    Morning all,

I want to take my decs down today too :o, and I only had them up for a week before xmas :D.

OH has gone to the boot sale, its a lovely day here, cold ans breezy but sunny, so I have the first of three loads in the wm, will get it on the line.

I think dd is off with her dad today to see her brothers, if so, OH and I will get little dog out for a long run, she has only been in the garden over the last two days, and has far too much energy .

Need to have a good tidy round today, and hoover and mop floors, tea will be leftovers, we have loads, cheese, crackers, sausage rolls, meat, bread we wont starve ;)

Taplady, hugs for you hun, you are going through such a tough time at the moment xx

Nic, its horroble when that sort of thing happens, I think I would be inclined to ring and leave a message, saying something like ' it was really lovely to see you yesterday, please dont leave it so long next time, give me a ring and we will arrange something' it sort of leaves it up to her then, and if you have not heard within a few weeks leave another message xx

Well done to mogs on the egg :j

    Have good days all xx

:DMorning all....((.((((((HUGS))))))))))) if you need one......

Very late up again this morning:D OH sat up at silly o'clock and started choughing, lay down and went to sleep again, I was still reading at 5.30am. dropped off arounf 6am.......

Its a dull morning the sky is very grey, not sure if its rain or snow.....the previous lot of snow has now completely cleared the garden, not sure what its like underfoot though.

As we are late getting up think lunch will be supper, smoked salmon and rocket salad, trifle to finish off.

I am taking the cards and the few decs we have up down today, Christmas is gone, over and done with till next year. I still have some festive candles to burn, they will see us through to the new year.

Tomorrow I start the pre New Year clean. My MIL was a Scot and used to clean the house and change the beds wash all the clothes and put out the fire on NYE, they re-lit the fire just after midnight sounded and partied for days........Hogmany is VERY big in Scotland. OH used to first foot the neightbours as he had black hair........one year one of his friends mothers called round to see if her son was there, he had not been home, they found him asleep on the floor behind the sofa:eek::eek::D he was very drunk, they were lucky things were not worse!!!

When we lived in Scotland we never tried to sleep before midnight even if we were in bed, fireworks went on for an hour or so, no point in trying to sleep. They started the New Year parties in Princes Street whilst we were living there......twice a year we stayed as far away from the city centre as we could Festival month and Hogmany!!!
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Good morning guys,

It's nice to hear that xmas has gone well for you all. :T:T:T Everything was good here too, only the 4 of us for lunch which we eventually had at 3pm (time for the chocolate to go down). We raised a glass to Eric and I had a little weep in the kitchen whilst getting the pudding. My brother and BIL came in the morning so after I fed us all I was able to chill. It's taken the last 2 days to find homes for everything and clean up, I'm another one here that can't wait to get the deccies down and the duster out. ;)

The kids loved their presents and I ended up with a lovely scarf and some nail varnish and a case of beer. :T:T DD who got the DS is obsessed with the cheap tamagotchi and the DS is lying unused in her room. Still mum may find a cheap brain training game on Ebay to play with. :D

The washing is now caught up with and it's time to pull out the hidden ironing and do that this evening. Everywhere bar the lounge is tidy and we have a load of plastic to dispose of after lunch at the plastic bank.

Lunch will be cheese and ham toasties (gets rid of some of the ham) and tea will be bubble and squeak with a hodge podge of left over meat.

Have a good day all and hugs to all who could do with one.

  • Morning all,

Firstly Hugs to you all - whether you need one or just want one coz it's Christmas!!!!:grouphug:

Well Christmas is pretty much done in our house - DD is at her Nan's (Christmas Part 3!), DH is fed up of christmas and I start seven night shifts tonight so I have just made an executive decision that the tree is coming down shortly.

Not been a very OS or MSE christmas - so thats my big resolution for 2010!

    Plan for today:
    • Christmas Tree down and packed away for DH to put in loft.
    • Christmas cards recycled into shopping lists for 2010.
    • Washing/Drying of laundry - had two days off and it seems to have grown ten fold!
    • Quick tidy up/ Hoover
    That'll do to start.....

On an OS front - was tring to persuade DH that we needed an upright Freezer so that I could batch cook - my DM then piped up and said that I could have hers!!!!! It's got a couple of drawer fronts missing and needs a good clean but other than that it's cool! So come january I should be able to batch cook en masse and stock up my freezer with healthy home made meals.....

Anyway enough of my waffling - hope you all have a lovely day!

  • Morning all,
Just back from church - not many people made it today so there was a really nice family feeling. The kids are playing on the computer and I'm on here - dh is upstairs playing the piano - so I don't think MIL is best pleased - but I have offered to take her to the sales this afternoon:rolleyes:

Not too bad on the leftovers front - the goose all went on Christmas Day apart from the stock and a bit of the stuffed neck pate. Some ham - enough for a round of sandwiches and a pasta dish, some smoked salmon for a quiche and enough beef for one more meal. Smaller dog is eating chicken liver pate as it's the only way to get his antibiotics down him.

Will make some soup for lunch to go with the other stuff - I have chicken stock as well as goose stock so I might make cream of chicken soup. There's no frost here today but it's quite chilly in the wind.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

    Morning folks
DD been seen off on the train - first stage of her journey to New York for New Year, birthday present for her from her boyfriend. They are going together. They stay the night at my sister's tonight then fly off tomorrow.
Washing machine on here in her flat. Catching up on clothes washing then will do our bedding.
Lunch will be either toast and pate or some cheese sandwiches. Tea is likely to be left over roast beef in gravy and bubble and squeak
DSS arrives by train at 4. First time he has travelled so far on his own (aged 15) and I got a panicky call from Peterborough asking if the train marked 'Aberdeen' was the right one and if so, did he get off at Haymarket or Waverley. I don't think he realises how long the journey to edinburgh will take and the fact that we WILL ring him nearer the time and also be there to make sure he gets off! Really looking forward to seeing him although it's just been a week. A busy week though!!
Ok folks, off to browse and have another big mug of tea.

    (((Smoky))) and (((Cranky)))

Came downstairs early and washed a few dishes, managed to use special treatment on all the tea stained mugs (DH never gets all the stains off and looks hurt if I do it).

Put joint of beef in the slow cooker so it should be ready for lunch.

Dds are up and around so went out of the way with a pot of tea.

If I am downstairs doing stuff everyone tells me to rest
but if I am upstairs resting I feel guilty:confused:

Still have fresh veg and seem all right for milk and bread so pleased we don't have to go out on icy and slippy pavements and roads today.

Breakfast was one slice of eggy bread using fry light and a couple of low fat turkey rashers so that should do me no harm weightwise. DH will probably make a huge Yorkie with lunch so I will have mainly lots of veg, small piece of yorkie, one potato and beef.

DD(24) has just been showing me how to use the laptop to play the Trueblood dvd later :j
Finished knitting scarf in fluffy wool for DD's best friend last night (she liked Dds purple one so did her one in a champagne, goldie colour).

Can hear frantic activity in the kitchen so hiding so that I don't interfere:eek:

    Hugs to everybody
