    no - it came installed on my computer, but, yesterday i got the message this windows isnt genuine - i have since phoned microsoft who agree it is genuine - they gave me a list of thinks to do but nothing is working - they said they would send me a new passkey but so far nothing.......

    I'd ring them again, and insist they resolve it while you are on the phone

    If you post the address of your bank (url), then we can try and get to the site, and post the IP address, which bypasses any DNS issues.

    So is it isnt it um err, Well I would say it is but you didnt buy the disk from a shop it came Pre-Installed on the PC thats called OEM so yes its genuine but already on the PC.

    Who sold you the PC?

    it does seem that a lot of people are having issues with their windows being told they arent genuine too so i thought someone mightve sorted it out, i would ring them but im waiting for an engineer from telewest to come and knowing me i would be in the middle of the call when he comes.......apparently my set top box is set too high as well........

    i got the pc from comet in 2000 - it is still insured too luckily

    whoops sorry - wrong computer - bought 2003 from dixons - was already on it when bought though definitely and when i use the validation thing off microsoft -

    it tells me its genuine and then to go to;

    http://catalog.microsoft.com/genuine/purchase/updateinstructions.aspx but that asks me for the passcode which ive typed in after getting off jellybean as i havent wrote it down, it then says it isnt genuine then..........
