    jealous

I'm too far south and near the coast to get much of the white stuff unless it's already all over the country :(

Workmates and sister and her bf are now finished, hopefully getting a few more bits towards my mum and dads hamper tomorrow (assuming I can wrap up warm enough to set foot outside) and my bf's is a work in progress at the moment!
  • I must admit although I hate the snow it is making me feel really Christmassy. I am sat with my fleece blanket and hot chocolate thinking I should make a start on the wrapping. A lot of Christmas trees have gone up today and its really nice driving past seeing the twinkling lights. Not sure if I will be allowed to put ours up yet. The other half doesnt like it up too early.

Have finally made a start on OH's presents - I got him his Leicester Tigers calendar which gets harder to source every year  I had to go to Nottingham to get it unbelievably!

I have my works bran tub to do - we have to spend exactly £10 and I was panicking about who I drew - one of the staff nurses who has been there a little while but I dont really know her, luckily I worked a couple of shifts with her and discovered she likes baths and supports Man Utd so am getting her a Lush Secret Santa box for £5 and I've discovered a Man U mug for £4.99 (and she was complaining she didnt have a mug to leave at work) Am hoping they will let me off with the 1p :rotfl:

Other than that, all done. Went to pick up my family's presents from the accident repairers yesterday - was panicking so much I wasnt going to get them back in time, the police took the car away with everything in it after the crash. Luckily, the nice man at the accident repairers was concerned about me having them back so he said we could pick them up today - all intact, thank god.

No snow here - but decorations are up early for me. Thats boredom for you :rotfl:

Decorations will be going up here on Tuesday I reckon, when the girls come home from school. They usually go up on the 1st December, but as DD2 has Brownies that night and either a Carol Concert with School and a Candlelite evening with friends to go to on the Thursday - I suppose I had better do it before. Tho DD1 has a friend over for a sleepover tonight and they decorated their tree at their house last weekend. So I maybe pressured to do ours early.

BUT......... I have to work out where then blooming tree is going to go because we moved house in the summer and I can't see a place in our new lounge to put a 6ft tree!!!!! And there really isn't room in the dining room either. I am NOT buying a new tree!

  • diddly - we have to have a real move around to fit our tree in. DS's toys all have to go upstairs and just come down a box at a time. I want to do mine on the 1st but DHs uncle will be here so I reckon I'll do em on the Frday when DH is at work and DS is at childminders. (just get DH to move the toys during hte week)

  • I think what I will do is get the tree out and put it together, then see where it will fit without the possibility of our 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 kids knocking it over, then moving the furniture accordingly! Hey its only for 6 weeks.

  • our tree and decs are going up on friday the 3rd.
the kids are spending the night at my mums as she's having a little xmas party for her 7 grandkids. while they are there they'll all put up her tree and decs. so it will be complete mayhem for my mum and stepdad:eek:!!!
were taking advantage of a (very rare) child free night and decorating the house! maybe a bit evil to not inculde the kids but seeing their faces when they walk in the next morning will be worth it:T

when they got up this morning and saw how much snow had laid, ds asked if it was xmas!
i showed them their messages from santa this morning too and dd watched hers with a huge smile on her face esp when she saw her photo and he said her name. then she got into a fit of giggles when it was over.
ds on the over hand was a bit overwhelmed and just stared at the screen in shock! but he hasnt shut up about it all day!

went to m+fil's today and the kids decided to give them their xmas cards they had made and the baubles they had decorated for them. they went down a treat! christmas has been the mentioned so much today! i love it!!
