there are 287 various bathing make-up and beauty products in my bedroom alone!!!:o:eek::o:eek:
(that doesn't count all big bag full of various sample sachets i discovering id been collecting)

so i dont think ill be shopping in lush or boots for a while:rotfl:.

    .

Can I ask you how people who see your bedroom react? I've had bad reactions to the amount of cosmetics I have and mine are 80% not on display. Lots are concealed in pretty storage boxes like the Soap+Glory hat box, the wardrobe and a chest of drawers. So for example if I had a plumber calling round lots of the cosmetics would be removed from the bathroom in advance:)

I have my debt total in my sig so I just want to point out that I've never spent a fortune on these cosmetics. I've won some of them in competitions, used vouchers, the No7, Olay, Time Delay, face wipes were all almost free, probably costing €1-4 with the money off vouchers. There are goody bags from events, my mother passes on things now and again that she decides don't suit her skin, free samples, etc.

I actually spend far less than my friend who doesn't have any stash of cosmetics in storage. She never looks for offers. When we went shoppping at Christmas she bought a No7 day cream, night cream + foundation costing around €25 each. No offers or discounts. She doesn't split her shopping into €7.50/£5 lots to avail of vouchers. I rarely pay full price for any off these items maybe just perfume because that doesn't get reduced. I assume most others on here are like me:money:

I think they do travel sizes - yes, just checked and they do a 50ml Shampure for £3.75 (sorry, I shouldn't be encouraging you to lapse here!!) but a little does go a long way.
Thanks judgejaq, I'll give it a go once I have depleted my shampoo stocks!!
Hi ladies, feeling a bit blue today,Hubby has been a bit of an a**e and i hate tension .
I can relate Nab, my OH is very moody and the word 'sorry' is not a part of his vocabulary. I'm sending you a big hug. jhy41y.gif
I've got a pic on my phone of all my lovley toileteries to remind me of that.
What an absolutely fantastic idea! That way you can remind yourself that you don't need anything whenever your resolve starts to weaken. 727phsg.gif

I have noticed that the skin around my nails is really dry and I keep picking at it, making my fingers sore, which means I can't remove my nail varnish which I want to do, and was wondering if anyone can recommend something that I might already have that will help sort it out.
You could also try some plain almond oil. It might smell a bit nicer than vegetable oil and usually costs less than a £1.

question for those who know about these things
how do i use body butter? (i have 5 in my stash) guessing its a 'slather over bod before bathing' product but if its just a posh mouisturiser i dont want to waste it by washing it all off straight after ive put it on:o
also i need useage instructions for body souffle (i've got 2 sanctuaryy mande lular (guessing this is just posh mouisturiser

    thank you:D

Never ever before showering, always after, body butter is thicker in consitency and more moisturising than normal body moisturiser. It's really good for dry skin. Body souffle is basically body butter/moisturiser too

I've decided to start a little savings pot as well for using stuff up, but i can't afford to put in the real colst of everything, so i'm putting in between 50p and £3 depending on size and cost of stuff finished. Plus, for everythign i buy, i have to put in the same amount i spent in to the pot - should help convince me not to buy anything!

    So far i've saved £19 + £8.99.

By the time i've worked through my stash i'll hopefully have enough to replace it with my fave things, even if they do cost a little more :T

    Excellent idea:T

    Last night I:

    Emptied:
8 hotel shampoos into my pump dispenser of shampoo
6 hotel conditioners into the pump dispenser of conditioner
9 hotel shower gels into the hand wash dispenser.

    .

Great way to get rid of sample bottle clutter. I sometimes refill posh expensive brand bottles with cheaper stuff.

When I moved in August my cleaner said to me I hope your not taking all of that crap with you! I have the same cleaner now and I hid most of it when I moved. Now the stash is going down, she actually commented the other day that my dressing table was looking better. :j

I had almost got to the ends of my No7 moisturisers - the day one has gone really caggy, I tried to decant the tiny amount left this morning into another pot to see if a little stir would help - it didn't - and then I managed to put night cream on my face which is now feeling horrid and slightly stingy :(

So both pots in the recycling. Dregs washed away and shock horror - no more facial moisturisers left .

Need to do some shopping I think......

Its only really DH that sees our bedroom (well the kids do but they take no notice) we have big cupboards so it is housed in 2 cupboards. i got it all out and put it on the bed to count and sort, i would say most of mine is an accumulation of presents ive been given, products ive won and some ive brought at carboot sale (unopened i hasten to add) there isnt actually much ive paid hard cash for except for some lush as i do have a weakness for that

in the bathroom we have some shelves in the corner there are two big plastic storage boxes on those. (the top shelf has medicines and chemicals so the kids cant reach it and the lower one is lotions potions soaps and toothpaste - that sort of stuff. so you cant really see those either. Like all good addicts i hide my addiction well;)

    Today I used up:

Olay Regenerist Eye Pod samples - WIBA - no! The pods seem quite wasteful to me, and the sponge end that you're supposed to apply the cream with made my skin feel a bit sore yesterday, so today I squeezed the cream out and used my fingers. I'm sure the cream is fine, but I've been put off.

I've been really good!! I went to Tesco on Monday and needed hair conditioner as I was down to the dregs, and that was all I bought :j.

When I started really trying to use stuff up last year I discovered most of what I had 'hanging about' was things from presents or stuff I'd got because Boots were giving it away. I've learnt to ignore offers unless I actually need them and I've tried to train my mum to buy what I really like, and told the inlaws too, as they were the worse culprits!

After using the random bottles of bubble bath, shower gel etc and selling various things I've now become much better, and although that hat boxes have increased my stash again I'm trying to be very good - especially with Avon and where I see "good deals" and threads like this help so much!
