Just had a thought when trying to think of ways of making body lotion and using up stuff I have. I have a large tub of coconut oil, which is nice but very - well - oily so I'd like to use as a base for a lotion. I was trying to think of stuff to mix it with when I remembered I have some old (ie about 3+ years) sun tan lotion in the loft, which has probably lost its potency as a sun filter. I wonder if it would make a nice body lotion.

I think I might whizz some together in my food processor and see what happens.

I'll report back when I've tried it.

I have a confession(s) to make.I nipped into boots just to have a look at baby clothing and have managed to return with 4 boxes of moxie pads and 2 packs of moxie panty liners reduced to 45p each-I really don't need them as I'm pregnant but the box was nice and I never bought them when they were full price.....I will have to give them to sis instead.I think they are going to be repackaged.

4 boxes? when you don't know you or sis will like them?
I think we should make it a rule that we have to try a new product before bulk buying/bogofs etc!

Still, I'm sure your sister will be pleased you bought them for her, and you won't be pregnant for ever, so why not give half/keep half? :)

I went into town today and bought some soap and a Celestial moisturiser from Lush.

I had been using a sample sized Burts Bees soap but it has cracked and split in two in just over a week. I will persevere with it but am not sure how long it will last. My current moisturiser is almost finished.

Has anyone used hand lotion as body lotion. I got some for Christmas in a pump dispenser but it says hand lotion not to be used as facial lotion. I'll give it a go but stop if I get any reaction to it.

Finished up a virgin vie 'pretty calm' body lotion.
It's quite thin but took a little while to soak in (possibly because I've never been so moisturised before in my life :rotfl:). Undecided on the smell, tbh. It's quite sweet, but I can't decide if I like it or not.. On the upside (if you like it, lol!), the smell does last for quite a while and my sister said it was lovely.
WIBA? Probably not. It's £10 for 250mls and I don't know if I like the smell.

Total ££s of products used so far.. £119.31 _pale_

    Hiya,

You'll be able to use the hand cream on your body, but don't use it on your face - it'll be far too heavy :)
