  • To all the ladies who by Instyle magazine. Mine arrived today and have just opened it and guess what supplement it comes with? Yes you may have guessed its the 100 top beauty products

Every year i want to try some and for the last 5 years i have resisted by the Creme de la Mer face cream!

However so far i've not seen the normal competition to win every item which i would normally have a few goes at winning!

Finished off a sample body wash and another of the not-quite-finished tubes of hair removal cream so it's been a good night! Not sure that the body wash actually exists in full-size form but I don't think I'll be replacing it if it does as I was only really using it because it was there. As for the hair removal cream, the reason I stopped using it and bought another brand so because it was useless so no plans to buy that one again either!

I haven't used anything up yet... I'm annoyed at myself!!
  • I've finally got around to clearing out the bathroom cupboard and inventorying (is that a word?!) my stash.:o

The amount of hair related stuff surprised me......I have LOADS more shampoo than I thought I had.....I really mustn't buy any more. I unfortunately had loads less conditioner than I hoped I might find....but I do have three different lots of intensive conditioners (including two big tubs of Tresemme stuff) so will probably use those in place of regular - should do my hair a favour too! The treats to look forward to are two Toni & Guy Brunette shampoos - one of the conditioners I have is the matching one to these so I might try to save that for use at the same time. I also have plenty of heat defence sprays / shine serums / straightening balm & Frizz Ease - this is good as those are all expensive items that I look like getting away without needing to buy at all this year. :j

Bath stuff - Not too bad although I did find a couple more bubble baths that I didn't realise I had....a Boots The Spa one which must have been there years (HOW long since they stopped doing that range?!) and a bNatural one which was a gift a few christmas's back. The matching shower gel got decanted a while back and used as handwash I think. I shall probably aim to use both of those before starting the massive bottle of Imperial Leather stuff that my OH says has been with us so long it probably has squatters rights. ;) Treats in that area are the Sanctuary stuff and a Crabtree & Evelyn body wash.

Body creams and lotions - Again not too bad - I found a long forgotten Sanctuary Mande Lular which thankfully still smells fine. Sanctuary stuff does seem to last absolutely yonks without going nasty. As I am working through my current tub of Creme Souffle at a good pace that will give me a change in due course. I also found the matching stuff to the bNatural bath stuff but unfortunately I'm not sure the "Skin quenching body milk" is going to be much cop - the little bit I tried on the back of my hand felt rubbish! As well as the Sanctuary stuff, best treat there is the matching Crabtree & Evelyn La Source body lotion to the body wash mentioned above. :D

Scrubs - well my earlier justification of buying the S&G scrub because my Sanctuary one is coming close to the end proved a bit of a red herring.....I found an Avon Planet Spa brown sugar scrub (from Mum at christmas - how did I forget that so fast?!) and a tub of Crabtree & Evelyn body scrub that was also a gift for xmas - same thing really.

Face Stuff - I have two tubes of face mask in - one of which is a peel off sort and I love those! I also have a couple of sachets of Sanctuary warming detox masks which are nice. Plenty of cleanser - I've got a full tube and a part used one of the Olay total effects from the boots skinnie voucher deal where you could get them for 87p each - I think I got about 5 originally.....! :rotfl:I also have a part used Clinique wash off gel cleanser, a part used Neutrogena exfoliating wash and currently in use my favourite Olay Regenerist self heating wash. I will probably resist using the next Boots Olay £5 voucher if I get one, but if I do give in it will be to get another regenerist cleanser for £2.49 rather than the extortionate full price.

Other bits - not much really although I did find two packs of waxing strips that I'd forgotten about and also an almost full box of nail varnish remover wipes - those have been put in the jar with my cotton wool pads to remind me to use them instead of normal remover for a while. I also found a box of optrex eye masks with only one gone from it - I can sense some truly pampering baths coming on!

Obviously there is other stuff kicking about - my travel stuff lives separately but I am going to make a real effort to see what of those bits I can take on holiday and use up there - that way there is less to bring home again as well. I did find a mini Tresemme shampoo whilst sorting out earlier - that's now put aside to take. For the time being I'm not going to list out makeup, it'll be unbelievably time consuming and I can't be bothered!

Does focus the mind though, doing a list, doesn't it!

Beckton, London E16. It's mentioned further up this thread too.

Actually sounds like you did quite well there. Much of these things are things Id use, and I am plodding on with my stash. Mine just isnt as big as some of you ladies, just 2 wicker crates and a small basket and shelf in the bathroom.

Much of my stuff is dregs, we have no conditioner in stores only half a bottle left, one shampoo, and other more "randomy" stuff like lip balms etc that will take an eternity to use and i definately will not buy more of this, not tempted at all.

I think I might go there on Monday :o
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

I'm so glad I don't still work 5 minutes up the road - I'd need a bigger house! I tried to keep it to stuff that was a genuine bargain - the Radiant Glow mini-tubes were 10p each I think, as were the moisturiser sachets, and things like that are so useful when you're going away for a weekend or even a bit longer. When we're up in the Hebrides I go through moisturiser like it's going out of fashion as the wind dries my skin, so I always try to take plenty.

Just worked out - just taking into account the Facial exfoliator, mascara, and the two S&G bits I bought, had I bought them at full price the bill would have been over £21!

This makes interesting reading in the Daily Mail regarding Creme de la Mer face cream.
