It is depressing that's why I prefer going to Canary Wharf. Better not go there either as it's got 3 Boots.:eek:

I know, I used to work there, that's when I used to earn loadsamoney.
I worked such long hours and never even had a proper lunchbreak but a trip out to Boots and a spending spree used to cheer me up. I just wish I had saved all my bonuses now:o

Before Xmas I realised that I really musn't buy any more toiletries/cosmetics/shampoo etc as I was choked with pots of this, tubes of that....so much so that I have a huge box under the bed of stuff that's either had a couple of squeezes out of, or nearly used, or never used at all. And I am currently living in a caravan - so space is at a premium!

I haven't bought owt since that descision & have been using stuff up - the nearly finished first & samples.

My biggest downfall was Boots especially those 'spend £15 & get this dinky make-up bag filled with dinky samples & lipstick you'll never use + mascara that I never use + a lurid eye shadow that I'll never use unless I was going to a Halloween party. I am contemplating ebaying unused stuff.

I also got hooked on those £5 Boots vouchers, couldn't resist revisiting & revisiting the check out. This is really good to stand up & share amongst all you Boots addicts. I also have been a victim of BOGOF & cannot squeeze another John Frieda tube of shampoo under the bed, I have enough to take me into the next decade.

I am still in recovery, but I think I'm on the way to becoming totally dried out as yesterday I had to go into Boots to buy some Golden Eye Ointment for OH & although I didn't have the strength to look at NO 7 or any of the offers on show, I didn't buy anything other than the ointment.

Can I join in case I weaken - you can be my rock when I feel a Boots urge coming on, or another 'this anti-wrinkle cream will really work' moment, or a must stuff my trolley with BOGOF spree.

    Do you have an oath?

I had this dilemma too, but found I had one of those desk organisers that look like a set of tubes of different sizes and are made for holding pencils and pens. It's good as it has different height things, for the different sized brushes.
Excellent, will do that! Waitrose have some nice moc croc leather ones... just need to avoid the toiletries aisle. Am just catching up with all your posts (crikey you chatty lot!) and will be back to report on progress later.:A

Yes I mixed Original Souce, Anatomicals, FCUK, No.7 & Lynx :rotfl: he did comment that it looked a funny colour and that there appeared to be more in the bottle than was there yesterday.
You're mean.... I like it :D Ahh well I guess it won't do him any harm (might do others that smell him some harm though!)

I get the same when there are a ton of bottles leftover with just dregs in them, that's why I try not to open too many things at once anymore.

I have a love/hate relationship with Home Bargains - in our local store, they place all the shampoos, lotions, etc in the first aisle, so you have to walk past an alleyway of temptation before you get to the boring stuff (like bleach, washing up liquid, furniture polish etc). I resisted though - I'm sure the staff there think I'm a fruitcake as I go stomping through looking directly ahead!

Then I have to go and get a prescription - AVOID LOCAL INDEPENDANT CHEMISTS AT ALL COSTS! - because as I'm waiting for my prescription to be filled, I have 5 minutes to salivate over their goodies (Rimmel eyeshadows & lippies on sale). Once again, I resisted.

I felt so good about it until I got home - someone up there's really got it in for me - on my doorstep was an Avon catalogue. How much temptation can one person resist, I hear you ask - well again, I did resist - I left the catalogue on my doorstep and it's now papier mache (incessant rain). (Do you think it would dry off in the microwave) NO NO NO !!!!! I didn't just say that, honest!

Sorry - had to vent - anyway, I've done really well today - used up tube of toothpaste (5 to go) and Nivea moisturiser (2 more to go).

Forgot to add - prevented OH from buying another aftershave - he's doing the challenge too - I decided today!

I dont live local to a HB. I do go past one once a month so I go then. I also go to boots clearance once a month. Surrounded with pound shops, markets, boots, independent organics, body shop you name it its here.

I dont tend to look at toiletries in supermarkets though I guess Im ok there.

Boots for me is a must avoid- or go to the really small ones, although I seldom buy anything extra when I go into superdrug. Although I did go in purely to look at the sale stuff in boots today, and wasnt tempted at all.

Used up the last of a facial scrub tonight so there's another one for the bin. I'm also using up the dregs of a lip balm tub so hopefully that will be something else to chuck after the weekend.
