I hate to say it, folks, but the N-Spa Fruits range (which also includes the chocolatey stuff) is really nice (nah, I don't really hate to say it; I love talking about toiletries)! ;) I've got the coconut hand wash (currently being used as a kitchen hand wash - I'm finding the usual kitchen hand washes too harsh in Winter) and the Ginger Latte bath syrup (a lovely sweet, spicy product, great for feeling warm and comforted on a cold evening). They're not the cheapest products but not too expensive either - usually around £3 or £4 for a 500ml bottle - but I like that they smell 'cake-y' and they satisfy my lust for the sweeter products in Lush (a heck of a lot cheaper than Lush too). ;)

I love this thread, it makes me feel normal!! :rotfl:After some thought, I have decided that the money off coupons (No 7 pinkies, £2 haircare etc) from Boots are largely to blame for my huge collection.

For some irrational reason, I feel that if I have a voucher I simply must use it otherwise it's such a waste. This is how I have ended up with a glut of Sanctuary wipes, handbag sized Frizz Ease, Olay face washes and No 7 nail polish.

I wonder if I could take any of the unopened items back?

Boots exchanged an "unwanted gift" (!) of mine without a receipt last week, so it's worth a try! Don't know if they have a no returns on cosmetics policy or not?? Think it's worth a try, taking things one or two at a time. You need in advance to make a list of boring essentials that you are going to swap it for though, otherwise.............;)
  • Thanks for all your suggestions for using my Clinique Body scrub... I think I will try it on my feet as it smells a bit like a foot scrub anyway! :-)
I'm buying No More Toiletries, I'm Deluttering and I'm Losing Weight for 2010!

I think we should start a weekly "Paint Your Nails Monday" to use up our nail varnish, or actually use it for what it is supposed to be used for rather than collecting it.

Hello ladies, nice to see you all doing so well, makes me feel inspired:T. Good idea about puting money in a jar for each product you finish, are you only putting in money for full size products or do minis and samples etc count too?

Personally I would say that it depends on whether or not you have paid for it or not, and I would put a sum relative to the size of the item used: big, expensive bottle are worth more that cheap, small products, although sometimes the size is no indicator of how much it has cost!

    xx

I'll be putting in money for everything - for a full size product I'll either remember what it cost or look it up (or estimate), for a travel size product £1 and for a sample size maybe 20p.
you can still go to boots on sale day. i probably will myself.
the good thing about this thread is that it's made me think about what i've already got and i don't think i've bought anything yet and i have been looking ;)

Same here! I did buy those S&G handwashes at £2 each but one is for my bathroom, the other two are for gifts to go with other S&G bits and I paid with points!! :T So my actual toiletry spend since starting this challenge is £0!! I am sooo proud. I am also determined to resist the Boots 75% off sale as I got some FAB bargains in the 50% sale. The Frontcover Inky Eyes set is amazing for £6 and I got a couple of half price S&G sets (as well as 2 hatboxes given to me for Christmas). Ahem!!!!!!!!!!!

tara747: I also got home yesterday to a package from Boots product testing... 2 months' supply of FREE skin supplements! I was over the moon, this is the sort of thing I can never justify buying as it is so dear, but I am dying to give it a go! Yay!!!!:beer::beer:
How can we all get in on this???!

Sorry, only just saw this post!!! I think you have to sign up to Boots product testing via the website, I recall seeing it as a Grabbit once (ages ago and I've only just had my first mailing). Sorry I can't be more help :o, try a search on the site.

God Ive never heard of scooping cream out with pads- I cant believe Ive never known of anyone do this- have I lived a sheltered life tara?

Why not use hands? I do have clean hands most of the time I do a dirty job but I have a bit OCD about hand washing! I wash my hands a lot more frequently THAN I use moisturiser as my stores wil tell you lol . If you apply it with hands () ie squeezing it out of the tube) then whats the difference from scooping?

Im sure im missing something- fill me in!

Not cotton pads, cotton buds! LOL

I use my fingers with tubes but with tubs I just feel it's cleaner to use cotton buds, esp if it's going to take me ages to use up.
