that's the old series 4 model. 2008/09 edition basically. The model number of the new one ends in XXU and is a better TV, only £299.99 from Richer Sounds, with a 5 year warranty for £29.99 on top (so basically the same price as you've ust found for last years model).
I can't see why everyone goes on about John Lewis for TVs - the customer service assistans have little or no knowledge, they sell last years stock, and aren't exactly helpful when you go in to buy things. A specialist will suggest other items that may be better for your needs rather than ust pointing to the one that's on the top shelf of their promo stand :rolleyes:GREENS M'SHIP OFFER NOW CLOSED SO PLEASE DON'T ASK ME!Olympic Debt-free Challenge £2150/£11900 = 18.0%NOW INVESTIGATING AN ALTERNATIVE TO MY IVA - I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ONE ANY MORE!0 -
I went to Richer Sounds and it was horrible! Heating turned up very high in a small small shop with small car park. Lots of people in there queuing up and I got the pushy salesman.
I was there to get this tele (they say it may have Samsung screen):
http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-tv/toshiba/regza-32lv665/tosh-32lv665
but he said they did not have any in stock and I noticed that the listed price on their sale leaflet was 20 pounds highers than on the website.
The salesperson did not seem happy when I said I was interested in the SAMSUNG LE32B450 so I walked away.
Went to Comet and got the LG 32LH3000 for 329 and I'm a happy bunny! Thinking back I should have shopped around to see who gave the most cashback but I could not wait! It is full HD and great so far. Autotune and integrated freeview works a treat.
I chose this over the Samsung because it is 1080p, but if anyone is interested the cheapest I have found that tv anywhere is dixons at £309. I do like the shape/look of Samsungs I must say.0 -

One thing even if it was old stock, its the same tv, how do you know they are sending the older one?. You dont. Richer sounds = might go bust, warranty? goes with the company.
John lewis = will never go bust, as rich people buy things from them even when they are higher than other shops.
Another thing, maybe john lewis dont have knowledge, but who cares, if it breaks, they replace it, simple.Kind Regards

This makes me laugh, do you have super eyes or sit so close you can see the difference??? 1080p cant be seen on a 32" tv. The difference is minor 1080i and 1080p is slight and can only really be seen on large tvs. Does sky hd broadcast on 1080p?, no and will never as not worth it.Kind Regards

get the Series 4 Samsung, as you have mentioned. £300 from Richer Sounds. It has a far superior display compared to the LG listed above. Samsung LCD displays are lightyears ahead of the competition at the minute.
If you want full HD (1080p) however, go for the series 5 (here) for under £350.
yes samsung have better lcd than LG, so we agree here. Do you work for richer sounds?Kind Regards

Be careful with Samsung, some of the cheaper models have terrible picture quality. It's very noticeable when their all lined up together in a store.
How would people rate this Sony 32 inch for £299?

Hi,
I wanted to take this opportunity to reply to ukbill69s comments about Richer Sounds.
At Richer Sounds our extended warranties aren’t insurance backed, although we feel this is actually of great benefit to our customers. There are no complicated insurance claims to process and by financing it ourselves we are able to offer a much better deal.
Whilst we admit nothing is certain in life, we have been successfully trading for over thirty years and feel we are considerably stronger than certain banks at the moment!
Many thanks,
John Clayton

Absolutely no doubt about it, if they give great prices for genuine stock, why go somewhere else. I am a die hard fan of RS and would also like to ask every customer to give them a try before get robbed by some big names in the market. Keep it up the good work RS.0 -

I've also got to say Richer Sounds give you the old fashioned service. They actually KNOW THEIR PRODUCTS. And they will price match too. The only downside is that they are usually very busy, but worth the wait cos as I say they actually know the product they sell, which is more than I can say for the large multiples!!
All our family use Richer Sounds & none of us work there NOR are we friends/related to any of them. We just like their service!0
