Im debating whether to get this or go for the samsung LE32B450. Im going to currys tomorrow to have a look, anyone help me here?
    Kind Regards
    Bill
  • Ok - the difference between full HD and HD ready is the number of lines. Something like SkyHD or Freesat HD will only ever use 720 lines so your fine with a HD ready TV but if you've got a BluRay player or a PS3 then you'll need a full HD tele as it will show 1080 lines which gives you a clearer picture (this one is also more future proof if some new technology comes out)
Hope that helps make it a bit clearer, this TV by the way, the one on Currys is FULL HD and it's contrast ratio is pretty good too (so it's good for gaming on and watching horror films on)

If you look, it says 1080p HD Ready ...

This is from the LG website :
    http://www.lge.com/uk/tv-audio-video/televisions/LG-lcd-tv-32LH3000.jsp

The Richer Sounds on is 'last years' model (note the 32LG rather than 32LH model designation)

The big bonus with these LG tvs is that they have a built in high definition media player using the USB port on the TV.

So no need to spend £70+ on the Western Digital HD media player ( or equivalent).

Info on how to enable it is on the link below:

I have the same telly that the OP has posted and it is fantastic. I got mine from Argos in August 2009, mainly with Nectar points. There were loads of good reviews on the Argos website for it.

Family members who come round comment on how good the picture and colours are. The Wii games seem so much brighter and more colourful.

We tried Star Wars Revenge of the Sith DVD and the colours were fantastic (the blue around Grevious's ship), which our old type Sony just didnt show.

We now have Sky+ HD and the HD picture is also fantastic.

The TV also has a proper on/off switch, so you dont HAVE to leave it on Standby.

Just been looking at this instore I was debating so going back tomorrow.anyone know if it's any good
I think I paid 450 or so for this at Richer Sounds back in the summer.

It's a great television for the money. Football is nothing special on it, but that seemed to be true of many.

Also, the sound is only average, as has already been mentioned, but it's perfectly acceptable.

I don't have this TV, but I disagree with that statement. Football in HD (on Sky Sports) produces some of the best HD pictures currently available, imo.

get the Series 4 Samsung, as you have mentioned. £300 from Richer Sounds. It has a far superior display compared to the LG listed above. Samsung LCD displays are lightyears ahead of the competition at the minute.

If you want full HD (1080p) however, go for the series 5 (here) for under £350.
