It shouldn't make a difference due to being under £100, I know thats what the regulations say but most card companies are very flexible when it comes to fake goods especially once trading standards have confiscated them.

I recently had to do the same over some fake jeans I bought for 60 odd quid, took them to trading standards and faxed the receipt and had my money returned in a day or two

    Hi,

Can I just clarify something - when you say it was the wrong colour & wrong size ... do you mean that your other half ordered blue & it turned out to be red, or was it that she ordered red, got red, but you wanted blue?

Just in the 1st case you would be entitled to a refund, but not in the 2nd ....

    Mark

Rubbish, i can walk into my local chinese supermarket and find lots of goods that are genuine and come from China (Woks, Chopsticks, other cooking equipment etc).

How about naming the website so others don't fall for it then?

  • The Abercrombie site in question was a spoof site of the American site. In other words it was a copy of the USA site. It was taken down by the police/OFT. Unfortunately, it did catch a lot of people out most did not receive any goods. E-Victims.Org

The op was asked a couple of times to name the site, exactly for the above reasons, but chose not to.The sooner a site is "named and shamed " the quicker the word spreads around the Internet that's it's a scam.

I think you need to go a touch careful calling people's views abuse.

I think the point is that a .co.uk address does not mean it is a UK based company. Its pretty easy to find out who the proprietor of the website is.

It would be useful if you would post the website address to warn others.

Im sure this was on GMTV but it could of been on the BBC, im not quite sure who said it but it was regarding internet safety for shoppers and a website ending in anything other than .com dont have to register as a business and therefore arent monitored and therefore can get away undetected for a length of time
Its a mean old world out there, i really hope you get something sorted OP
