I am after some advice please
My partner purchased a new Abercrombie & Fitch hooded top for me which was a Christmas gift but as it turned out the top was the wrong colour and the wrong size so she said that she would return it and get another
Alarm bells rang when my partner could not find a return address and told me that the goods came from China, I replied that you cannot buy genuine goods from China and it was proberly a fake and now having looked into it using the whois website it turns out that this is indeed a scam
My partner has emailed them several times with no reply and having read other peoples experiences on this im afraid it looks like my partner has been scammed
We have been in contact today with her credit card company as this is how she paid and they have given her a number to ring on Tuesday (Disputes dept) as apparently they are closed for the Christmas break
Am i right in thinking that a credit card protects against this sort of thing?
If anyone else has had this problem could you please tell me how you overcame this and also is there anyone one the website who could tell me who else to contact to resolve this issue
Many thanks

I'm pretty sure that credit cards only protect for purchases over £100.000 -
Where did your OH order it from? It obviously wasn't an official site and as they knew it came from China it sounds like they know that.
I'm not sure what you would expect the cc company to protect you from as the company sent you exactly what your partner ordered. You can't expect to buy a counterfeit product from a dodgy site and then expect your cc company to refund you the money as well as having the product.Wedding 5th September 20150 -

Completely agree.
Now tell your partner to go out and buy you a decent present, instead of some fake knock-off designer gear.....

I read it as her partner didn't know that it was dodgy and in fact she had to point it out to him

Rubbish, i can walk into my local chinese supermarket and find lots of goods that are genuine and come from China (Woks, Chopsticks, other cooking equipment etc).
How about naming the website so others don't fall for it then?Txt spkrs cn fk ff0 -

Abercrombie and Fitch are not China based. Thought this was pretty obvious.0 -

OK - but not sure why on earth you think that buying from a Chinese supermarket is anything like the same as buying A&F products.Originally Posted by baileym
