My Mcafee has run out and just been online to renew and its £49.99, is there any better/cheaper which will protect the same. I also need to get one put on my daughters laptop which she got yesterday so that would mean £100 for both:eek:
Not sure if this is of any help to you in particular, but:
If you happen to be with Sky Broadband, you can get McAffee free.
Also, if you are with Barclays, you can get Kaspersky free.

Just goto the site, its the last test (Novembers). But its only on GUESSING viruses, Not known ones

This would be the test in which Microsoft Security Essentials received a three star Advanced + rating, and Avira received a two star Advanced rating?

I just bought Kaspersky 2009 from Tesco.
I have 2010 at the moment but prefer 2009
It is cheap enough for anyone to stick on their machine ..And it really is a good bit of software.

    3 user 1 year licence £12.97:

    1 user 1 year licence £7.97:

You can order and pick up in the bigger Tesco's ...Also Quidco

Just to repeat so no one jumps at me ..This is 2009 not the newer 2010 ..But still excellent.

just in case anyone wants to install kaspersky 2009 on windows 7, you can but kaspersky 2009 is incompatible with win7 and will cause issues. however, kaspersky 2010 is fine with windows 7.

The fact that Avira cant handle known malware/viruses as well makes it less good in my book.
  • Apart from this site.....what does MSE stand for?
