Ok ladies so you have all totally inspired me and I have declared to all my family and friends that I have made the decision to try my hand at jewellery making!

Only problem is Im skint having just finished a masters degree!

But all is not lost, I have spent all weekend putting things on ebay so hopefully come next week I will hve some funds and can start making some things :D

Im going to start of with the memory wire braclets as these 'seem' simply enough then I think have a stab at the bag charms and simple earrings then as my skills improve move on to more difficult braclets.

Im so excited and I havent even started yet or ordered anything! haha

Just out of interest are any of your from the Manchester area and know of any bead shops or classes in the area? The only bead shop I can find is afflecks and I hate going into town (paying for parking grrrrrr) and Im thinking it probably wont be that competitively priced anyway! I drive and am on the salford side of Manchester so doesnt have to be somewhere in the centre of Manchester.

Thanks for posting all your pics too I love looking at all your creations :D

The bead shop in Afflecks isn't that expensive to be honest, I went there for ermergency supplies of wire while at a craft fair in the Northern Quarter, and found the prices to be ok.

Re parking, over in that area, near Swann Street,(?) is a car park on a bit of waste land, run by a really nice chap, it's only £2.50 for the day, we usually park there and you are only a couple of mind walk from the Arndale, and are in the right part of town for Afflecks

Hi Giggles ~ have you had a look online for beads, depending on what you get the postage may be cheaper than parking in town, some of the online suppliers I use are:
Jillybeads, Totally Beads, Rosarama Beads. Have a look you might make a saving.

Yukki ~ your new makes are fab, I have been intending to make some jewellery with buttons, I have a thing for buttons.

Your post made me giggle, depending on where you put the punctuation it could be construed as quite racy, read it again:

"I've been making out, in the sunshine this afternoon, with buttons", makes you sound like Cinderella!
You can stand there and agonize........
