  • Hi sunshine,
I`m not sure how you have made your bracelets but how I would make them using wire is to thread your end clasp or toggle with the wire then thread the crimp on then your beads, close the crimp as close as possible to the toggle/clasp, continuing threading beads till reaching the desired length then thread on another crimp followed by your end clasp/fastener and double back on the wire through your beads again closing the crimp close to the fastener.
Use chain nosed pliers to close the crimp and cover with a crimp cover.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help. I think I did everything else in the same way, except I did not use a crimp cover, so will get some of those.

    Thanks
  • My 12 year old DS has been interested in what I have been doing for the last few weeks.

As it is sleeting/snowing here in the East Midlands today, I decided to involve him.

He has learnt how to make Mobile phone dangles.....he has made 5 to sell to his mates at school for their mums for Mothering Sunday.

I told him he can keep any money made to buy me a gift for Mothers day!!

Anyway, back to the grindstone......lol :rotfl:

  • Aww, what a great idea your DS is certainly an enterprising chap! I bet he does a roaring trade.

I've been making again for my folksy shop. The berry berry bracelet is already listed over there and the rest will be listed over the course of the day.

  • id be interested to know Yukki & Princess.. I have those bracelets - bought on the Jillbeads site, yes??- how many headpins with attached beads are you putting on each link.. its hard to actually work out from the pics.. 3 head pins per link?

dont worry I'll be no competition - wont be setting up a folksy or etsy shop.. this is strictly presents and perhaps local craft stalls!!

mine is 3 headpins per link but I think poppy's are more.
  • For me it depends on the size of the beads you are putting on your bracelet. For 6mm and below I would use 6/7 for larger beads less as they fill up more space.
Ive just been browsing the internet for tutorials and found one for a beautiful pearl illusion necklace that I`m going to try when Ive been into town to get a few supplies.
I`m thinking of having a jewellery party before baby arrives to show off some of my jewellery and hopefully get a few sales from family and friends. Its all so exciting.

O and I`ve opened a Folksy shop as people were put off with Etsy being in dollars. At least on Folksy everything is in British Pounds so people know exactly what they are paying.

Next stop making some fimo roses to go on my charm bracelets! I`ve made these in the past when I decorated and customised photo frames so hopefully can get them right again.

good luck with the party, I would be too nervous lol. And good luck with the folksy shop, make sure you link your blog to your shop if you haven't already lol.

I really want to get some sterling silver supplies but am just too skint at the mo lol, and I also want a fimo rolling machine so I can make roud beads with my fimo.
