im just using elastic wire stuff. looks easier and will prob fit better. once i get going i may use the memory wire stuff when i know what im doing.
just bout to place a massive order with an ebay shop for various beads 4mm, 6mm and 8mm........ can i just check with someone for bracelet all i'll need is the elastic, beads and spacers, and for earring i'll just need earring hookwire piece, jump ring, and head pin/eye pin?
also, has anyone used the black ones? i was gonna use them cos they look like a duller antique silver rather than a bright silver or gold. has anyone used them? im a bit worried their gonna look dirty.
thanks guys0 -

Do you mean the black wires etc? if so, I use them, I work with all 5 colours (gold, silver, black, red copper and bronze) and have found that they work really good when gold or silver just won't do it.
Some of my liquorice allsorts earrings were done on black headpins and black earwires, as I say when selling them, they are on liquoirice lol. Sometimes they can really change the look of a piece.
It all depends on what you are making and the effect you want, but I have found that thry don't look dirty as such, just different.0 -

thanks Jo_F thats really helpful. i found out that there is a bead shop in Lincoln so i am going to go on Saturday and have a look at sizes and colours and different wires and pins there. if they dont have what i want i've found a very reasonably priced ebay shop but it would help to visualise sizes before i order. because i quite often get it wrong lol
thanks everyone for your help. i am itching to start0 -
Vikki - whats the clasp called thats at the top of your bag charm ? I need some clasps of some sort to finish off the bag charms I've done so they'll fix on to a bag.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

i've been keeping an eye on this thread but dont have anything to contribute right now. im going to a bead shop on saturday to hopefully get some items. :j
i have some ideas already and cant wait to get started.
i have been through my jewellery box and looking for items i can recycle. i found a stray reindeer dangly earring from a few xmas' ago, its white glittery with a red nose, it gave me the idea of a white and red (and perhaps green) bead bracelet (prob on elastic) and i'm gonna take the dangly earring from the ear wire and attach it as a charm. coming up with ideas is easy, the hard bit is deciding whether to keep your creations or let family and friends enjoy them instead :rotfl:
i have a list of colour combinations i think will work well and will bear this in mind when i visit the bead shop. also looking at some of my daughters jewellery, i will probably get some kids stuff to make for her friends - there is always a party coming up.0
