iphone -simplicity- what are my options ?

hi,

my girlfriend has kindly bought me an iphone outright and assumed i would just be able to stick my current simplicity £19.56 sim into it.Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.

I send about 500 texts a month and make only about an hour of calls in the same period. half an hour a day online.

what are my options ? is it just pay and go favourite place which doesnt include texts ?

thanks in advance

Just wanted to reply to this thread to confirm that I've purchased a pay as you go iPhone 3GS from the UK apple store and it worked fine straight out the box on my monthly 02 simplicity SIM (£20/month) with unlimited data.

Also enabled internet tethering via http://help.benm.at/ without any issues.

maybe worth giving 02 a call?

Not got iphone but if its like other phones, you need to stick your sim back into the old phone and copy all contacts from old phone's memory onto the sim card memory. Then stick sim card back into new phone and copy from sim card to the new phone.

O2 now offer a special version of Simplicity for iPhone users.

It costs the same as a usual Simplicity contract but includes some extras especially for iPhone users such as visual voicemail.

Have a look here for details.

  • if i read it right it's only certain subscribers who are being offered the iphone simplicity but it's worth a try.

am i right in thinking that wifi isn't free if you use your current simplicity sim ? i assume it's possible to get online with iphone without using wifi ?

thanks again for your help so far

AFAIK, anyone can get this as long as they get through to the 'right part' of o2.

Try calling 2302 if looking to go 30 day simplicity to this - it'll put you right through to an iPhone advisor queue permitting.

So you should get the following for £20/month:

    600 mins
    1200 text
    Unlimited Data
    Unlimited Wifi
    Visual Voicemail.

Let us know how you get on...

    Regards
    Sunil
