    Good morning!

We ad a lovely day too and spent the evening watching a bit of my box set of Angel dvd's that DH bought me :T I love a brooding vampire on Christmas day night :rotfl::rotfl:

Today my best friend & her OH are coming round. We'll be having turkey & stuffing sandwiches, cheese, crackers & fruit & a trifle so everyone can pick when they want. I have put togather a carrot, chickpea & garlic salad with olive oil & sultanas if anyone fancies it too.

All 4 children are out in the sales already  I was amazed that the shops were open - it doesn't really feel right to me. DD is picking me up some baby wool as I have joined the charity knitting thread and am desperate to cast on some tiny hats & squares for blankets.

Have a lovely day all & enjoy yourselves whatever you are doing HSTreeLightsFlashHatHugs.gif to everyone xxx

No Boxing day here is USA. So we are going to join the masses who got their Christmas gift cards and head to the shops. Most have vouchers in the local paper offering even better deals, so lets fill up the suitcases.......

Have a good boxing day...... I week holiday left. Could be longer if some Islamic idiot tries to blow up another plane...

    Afternoon all.

I hope you all managed to have a lovely day yesterday, and that you are enjoying this one too.

We had a lovely christmas day. The dinner on christmas eve worked out really well - even more so, as I wasn't able to get around much yesterday. I think we will be sticking with christmas dinner on christmas eve, now.

There is loads of stuff to tidy, but I'm not going to worry about it for another day or so. OS is out the window for a couple more days too, but I will then look at meal planning ect :) One of my presents off DDs was Nigella's Christmas recipe book, so I can't wait to start cooking again. Leftovers for now though :)

DDs have had a really nice time which is the main thing.

    (((HUGS))) to all.

  • :rudolf:Hi there, happy boxing Day all,

My boys have been given remote controlled helicopters. It is like having giant wasps in the house.

The inlaws have been this morning bringing chocolate, booze, amazon vouchers and remote controlled helicopters.

Lunch was a buffet (which made the kids very excited:confused:)- cold ham, leftover bacon-wrapped sausages, coleslaw and crisps.

We're all off to Sixways a soon to watch the Worcester Warriors play Northampton Saints. It's a sell-out crowd so the atmosphere should be fan tas tic;) C'mon you Warriors!! None of the kids want to go:rolleyes: and dd is upset because we won't let her wear her new Emu boots (the walk to the ground is very muddy). I don't know-sigh, the tickets cost us £77, we thought it'd be a treat. We should have just bought a ticket for dd and left the boys at home- but I bet if we'd done that they'd have wanted to come.

Anyway, let's hope we win. When we get back it'll be goose hash. I've loads of leftover roast potatoes and veg plus gravy and stuffing- yum yum.
  • Afternoon :)

We had a lovely dinner on xmas eve and we ate one of our cockerels, and a pheasant, and my bro and his GF visited.
Managed to get my eldests stocking on her bed about 1.30 am, and then all the kids woke up at 2.30 am [GROAN] I let them open stocking presents and then urged them to go back to sleep, which thankfully they did, woke up again at 9am on xmas day.
Opened pressies and went to mums for dinner, massive piece of free range beef from a friends farm, yum, bought most of it home to mince and freeze!
Been for a walk today and had to go out to buy batteries oooops for various remote control toys.
Overall its been good, will watch a film later and crack open a popcorn :)
Quite glad I didnt spend any more money on food, we didnt need any more and we got given enough sweets and stuff to last all week and more.
    Have fun everyone.

    afternoon all!

back from work:j double time!:D cooked lunch at work then did it at home:rolleyes: got my fil visiting - he doesn't come often and I bet one of our pressies is a box of biscuits:D every year we get them.
DS1 is feeling better today - tummy bug yesterday and he's gone shopping to Cheltenham.
    DS2 in bed til lunchtime.
DHs toes still very sore plus his back and sciatica are playing up.
Had some sad news yesterday - my auntie has got terminal stomach cancer - very sad as it was only 2 weeks ago that she became a granny for the first time.
More bad news - Janet is still very poorly, got a drain in her kidney and they are now talking about possible dialysis. I'm ringing later for an update.
Nothing OS so far in my post - sorry;)

plans for later - tidy the house and walk the dog if DH is upto it. Work again tomorrow - 11 hours.

Hope you're all enjoying Boxing day x
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Hi All
Had a lovely visit from DD2 & the DGK, swopped pressies, DGS very impressed to get Ultimate Bummblebee transformer from nanny & Teef.
DGD grabbed hubby's sore knee trying to climb up on his knee, still it didn't hurt for long as she kicked him in the nadgers as he lifted her up, that soon took his mind off his sore knee!!
We've just eaten roast dinner again, I fancied cold cuts & mash, but hubby wanted a roast, we'd only just finished when DS1 phoned & asked if they can visit tomorrow, as they only stayed a short time on Christmas Eve, so it's roast beef & all the trimmings tomorrow, I'll look like a roast dinner soon.
    Hugs Hester

OH and I didnt really do presents much this year as too poor:rolleyes: but I did get some lovely toiletry things which I dont normally treat myself to and my mum and dad got me a lovely leather weekend bag and a Crown Devon stockholm cup and saucer ( the 1950s red deer one;))

Been a relatively relaxing day. DH took nephew to Hull to have lunch with his family.

Mum had the 'red stag' china as best when we were growing up. The remaining pieces are very much every day now!
