Aldi frozen pork, cranberry, sage and onion stuffed turkey crown - 12.99. Absolutely sensational, less than 2 hours to cook, moist and no waste (no one likes turkey leg in my family!). It's the second year I have had it - my family think it's a 40 quid one from M & S! Scrummy cold too!
Ditto! I decided to try the Aldi one after reading about them on here and it was absoloutly gorgeous! Defo be getting one from there next year again.

My mum (who cooked the Xmas dinner) cheated and bought her Turkey crown from M&S prestuffed with Pork and bacon (love you really mum!!- no really, she cooked anything and everything else and was not very well so I take my hat off to her!) was a really nice Turkey, made for 9 and fed 5 (three of whom were big hungry-don't-care-about-my-waistline men) and still some left over! Well recommended.

Half price 4kg Bernard Matthews Turkey from Somerfield (£11). Very pleased with it - tasted nice and kept moist.

As for cooking, relatively straightforward with sage, shallots, onion, lemon. Stuffing cooked separately - butter under the skin. Cooked for about an hour longer than was recommended on the packaging. Basting every 30-40mins
  • A Taste the diffrernce free frange frozen turkey , It was 4.2kgs , was 15.99p and aimed at feeding 8 people .
fed 4 on christmas day , had some leftovers boxing day , and have frozen the rest , enough for 4 meals .
It was very tasty and really moist ,
I did the jamie oliver method ,
flavoured butter under the skin , a clemetine and some herbs in the cavity , and butter outside it too ,
cooked it for 3 hours at 180 , and let it rest for an hour covered with foil and tea towels .
    Best turkey ive had :T:j

I completely pushed the boat out this year and bought an organic turkey from Well Hung Meat Company, delivered to my door on 23rd Dec.

Cooked it upside down initially so all juices baste the meat....absolutely delicious, juicy, tasty and loads left :D.

Basted it with butter, streaky bacon and its own juices.

    Same as u!

I won a turkey and meat trimmings hamper from well hung meat co, the turkey was 5.5 kgs!
Absloutely beautiful!! Cooked slowly with loads of butter and honey glazed bacon.

    Have frozen enough 7 meals!!!
Will defintely pay the extra for one of theirs next year!
Came on 23rd too, the meat pack was £100, it had the turkey, sausages, sausagemeat, bacon and cranberry sauce, worth every penny and more.

  • Pushed the boat out again this year and bought M&S turkey crown with chestnut stuffing, made a foil parcel as per Delia brushed with melted butter, cooked for just over two hours rested for half an hour, lovely and moist. Tempted by the Aldi crown though and may try it next year and make my own chestnut stuffing.

  • We bought a marks and spencers £25 turkey about 4kg. Last year we bought a really expensive one off the butcher (copas brand) but we found it quite fatty.
The m&s one was lovely - stuffed with sausage meat and roasted with bacon on the breast.
