Thought these were kinda cool, go to wee folk art's blog, kids crafts link at top of page and then "wet felted wool cookie cutter ornaments" (sorry not allowed to link yet!) these were plain, but you could embellish them any way you wished!

There might be something of interest to someone on this blog

Gosh - they're beautiful. I'd like to have a go at some. But what do they mean by 6x6 blocks? Do they frame them as pictures for the wall or sew onto clothes etc? I'm quite a beginner at sewing crafts so I question everything in case it might be important :rotfl:

flourgirl - thanks for that link.........some really good ones there and easy (need to be for me !)

budgeteer - I would take it that 6 x 6 would be the average size of a piece of felt so the image would fit that ok. You could put the image/applique on anything really.......I covered a gravy tub last year and did a sort of owl applique on it for my friend (contents were 'owl poo -choccys'..........lol)

Spent this afternoon covering boxes for pressies.........two went ok............made pigs ear of the third so gave up :(

foster daughter called round and gave me an empty bos she feels sure I can do something with...........its about the depth of a tea light candle, about 6 x 8 with a slatted lid and made of wood............any ideas ?
So far I can only come up with covering it with paper and putting tea lights in it..................
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

 How about giving a 'box of love' (cheesey but cute for family) - I pinched this idea last year from the xmas crafting thread but can't find who mentioned it so apologies for not crediting anyone

A box of hugs (with photo of you and them attached):
This is a very special gift
    That you can never see
The reason it's so special is
It's just for you from me.

    Whenever you are lonely
    Or are ever feeling blue
You only have to hold this gift
    And know I'm hugging you.

    You never can unwrap it
    Please leave the ribbon tied
Just hold the box close to your heart
    It's filled with hugs inside.

Or maybe put little notelets inside? It doesn't sound very deep to put anything in other than paper or nothing!! I have piles of boxes people have given me to make things with and I can't bear to part with any of them so boxes of hugs are going to be a major present again this year :D

Have been to a carboot today and picked up a nice stripy quilt that my daughter has took some shreds off and is, as we speak, trying to learn how to do a rag rug for her Rotary Award as part of her skills. Have found a few bargains at carboots, managed to get a lovely set of cupcake candles boxed from laura ashley for 50p!! I mean that must have been about 10 pounds when she bought it. I also got a lovely purse from accessorize for 50p too, thinking about what to make at the moment. I have a commission for a wedding card with very specific instructions from my sister so that will take a couple of days to get right.

Oh and I got a new job! wohoo just two days a week, but as I have been unemployed since October it was nice to go for the interview and be offered it there and then! I am looking forward to being in work but still having time to do crafting etc. I am seriously thinking of converting part of the kitchen with shelves and things so I can be more organised.
