    I've just been looking at the 'Cardmaking' section and learned that if you use an envelope bigger than 16.5 x 24cms you have to pay extra postage. Little tip for us home card makers! ;)

    The other thing to think about is that if the envelope is thicker that 0.5cm you have to pay the higher rate. My son and daughter-in-law sent out their wedding invitations tied with a bow that put them just over the thickness limit. Some got through but some were rejected. It caused some red faces!!!!:o:o

    If they're over size you have to pay not only the excess, but also quite a steep a service charge.
  • Okay Ladies and Gents,
    Imagination time, Imagine a small easter type basket, the type with the long handle that little girls skip with in fairy tales lol, inside is a box of luxury chocs and 2 umbrella shaped chocs and a nice pair of homemade knitted socks.With a homemade card tucked in.
    Would that be okay for mothers day??? Or would socks be odd gifted with food??? do people even like homemade socks as a gift?
    x x xx

  • Hi Guys, Hope you dont mind me joining you all.

    Need to get major organised this year its going to be expensive.

    Got lots of major birthday this year in the family so need to get organising for them. They are (in calendar order)
    * Aunty - Feb - 50 Yrs Young
    * Cousin - March - 21 Yrs Old
    * Step Mum - May - 50 yrs Young
    * Uncle - June - 40 Yrs Young
    * Nan - June - 75 Years Very Young
    * Sister - Nov - 30 Years Old (er) :rotfl:(im younger sorry)

    Plus need to make loads of sock monkeys ready to sell next xmas. Had so many people ask about them so making them to raise money for a youth group I run plus reindeer soup, dust, poop as well.

    Also its my first wedding anniversary in May and we are TTC so a busy year.

    Going to search the forum for inspiration for birthday pressies.

    Fishcake I love the idea of homemade knitted socks - could be classed as bed socks i suppose or TV socks (wear when watching TV and eating chocs to keep you warm and snug)
  • Whoah, how can this thread be on page 15 already! Eek, I had better get reading.

    I did some fundraising at work with some of the Christmas things suggested on this thread and think I would like to do some craft fairs next Christmas, things like the snowman soup, snowman poop, record bowls etc, my issue is the pricing of things, how do you all work out what to charge?

    well my record bowls I do for £9 for albums and £5 for singles.
    Snowman soup depends on the price of the mug if you use one. £2.00 without and £3.00 with
    I don't know about snowman poop as I haven't done them.
