dizzytina - love what you've done, especially the wall hanging............will check your blog when I've had dinner.

My best effort for today is sticking a retro shopping pad onto a cork backed placemat..............covered it with paper (when I eventually found some that looked right) made some holes for string to hang it up, stuck multicoloured lettered on saying 'shopping' at the top, popped on shopping pad and one of the pegs I'd covered that now holds a few bits of paper.............the rest of the pegs I did have a ''happy christmas'' tag in them.
And at last...........scrapbooks are done :T Found some fancy lettering for the last one and got that on, piccy and quote inside the cover and all tied up with a ribbon.
Now I feel I'm getting somewhere with it all........:j

Just had dinner and looked through your blog dizzytina - brilliant !! How big is the wall hanger you've done ? I had one in mind to do using fabric but love what you've done.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary the wall hanging is about 42cm long in total and you can get them from Home bargains. It really is so so simple to do. You will need some glue that works like a glue and a varnish all in one so modge podge or decopatch. if you look at my blog there is a link to the decopatch website or you can pick up modge podge on ebay i think.

First choose backing papers for each square and then cut to size. I placed the square i was covering onto the paper and cut round with a craft knife. Then choose and embellishments you want to put on top. i used a xmas tree sticker for one and 2 cards for the other squares. Once you have decided on your layouts glue the pieces to the wooden squares and using the same glue brush glue all over the top of the papers making sure you cover it all. It will dry clear. It really is as easy as that. if you are struggling and need some help send me a PM and i'll talk you through it more:D

  • Hi everyone,

After a long break from MSE I've just found out that I am likely to be unemployed from the middle of November on - ideal for Christmas!

Sooo, I'm looking for ideas to make my cash go further this year and possibly make a little extra too; this thread is brilliant, I love sewing and I'm already looking for a craft fair where I can sell some of the ideas!
