Many, many years ago I knitted this - it's an egg cosy. The pattern was probably from a Woman's Weekly mag or something like that (way before the days of the internet!!). I think it's knitted in aran or chunky and I think the baubles were knitted separately then sewn on.
Has anyone got this pattern or something similar? We're having a craft afternoon at school to raise some funds and I'd like to have a go at making some more.
Thanks.
PS. Many thanks to qwiksave for the help with resizing pictures.
I've just been looking for a pattern for someone on OS and I've come across your egg cosy pattern. It probably is Woman's Weekly and it's from 1984, which I know because one of the other makes has got Christmas 1984 on it!
I'll see if I can send it to you in a PM.0 -

Ooh Georgiabay, that'd be great if you could get in touch. Thanks, Soba.0 -
Quality! Would this work with prehaps cutting out crepe paper and sticking to card or thicker paper in christmasey colours?
Hi RebekahR, I'm not sure that sticking crepe paper onto card would work because when the circle is folded to make the bits that stick to another circle I think the crepe might separate from the card it's stuck to, pretty hard to explain really but for myself I don't use Christmas cards that have glitter on or any kind of lumpy bits (like a santa in relief on the front would have wobbly bits underneath). I found that cards like that just making the folding and sticking more difficult.
I think if you could get some Christmassy card that'd be great - I tend to save last year's cards and reuse them. That's cos I'm a skinflint!!0 -
I don't know if anyone would be interested but I've put a few Christmassy knitting patterns on the preparing for Christmas 2010 thread over on OS.0

hey guys havent popped in here for ages. Have been updating the Handmade Heartfelted blog with lots of links to tutorials and we have a new researcher who is also helping out behind the scenes to ensure the blog is updated regularly! If you have made anything from the tutorials we have shared links to, I'd love to show your pictures in our reader showcase.
I have been sooo bad with my own Christmas crafting, need to get on as the big day approaches!!!
Hi, this is my first time on this thread and I'm not sure where to find the tutorials. Can someone guide me please. Thanks."For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0 -

I think we should merge this thread with organised for christmas, all the ideas seem to be on there.
I spent weekend baking and moving rooms...so haven`t made anything..apart from xmas cake, mini xmas puds, cupcakes and bakestones.

It is in this page but I wouldn't do what they suggest or your kitchen will be covered in icing sugar, I would soften the butter, mix in icing sugar a bit at a time, adding some cream cheese as it gets too stiff. So, so delicious!God is good, all the time
