This is what I've made today - 2 baubles and a pair of elf shoes. Not much to show for a day's crafting. But the woodburner was lit, DH was home all day, the kids were at school all day, so not a bad way to spend a day.

According to the guys on HUKD, Home Bargains have got a 2 pack of vintage stout glasses (including Guinness) for £1.29.

Might be good for someone wanting to make a 'pint of socks' (is that what they're called?) if they haven't already got pint glasses in the house

Hi everyone, im joining you all, I hope you don't mind :)

You all have some great ideas! A quick question, where else can you get the small jars for 'pots of snow'? My poundland doesn't have them, wilkinsons doesn't have any and I don't have a home bargains :(

Oh and those baubles are fantastic!

These are really gorgeous! Did you use a pattern/instructions for the baubles or is it just something that comes to you? :)

For the big bauble I used circles made from cutting round both sides of a protractor, so it's a pretty big bauble!!

    Hi All

Just popping in to say Hello. Money has been tight the last few months so no Christmas preparation or crafting done at all really but I really must pull my finger out and get a move on soon me thinks

Just wanted to ask a few ideas - I have ready access to quite a few baby milk boxes (the larger size) and was just wondering what the hell to do with them. I was thinking along the lines of a sort of mini treasure chest filled with sweeties for my mum and sister and filling it with lots fo little white pick n mix bags for them to root through on xmas morning.

Just wondered if anyone else had any ideas though please
    Time to find me again

Candy - can't find anything I can use gravy tubs for.........well not yet anyway...........lol (bet I will though)

Emzy - for my pots of snowballs last year I just used jars from our kitchen.(mayonnaise were ideal as they had white lids).......some of the smaller ones like tartare sauce jars aren't a bad size. Really depends on whether you want them as a table gift or just part of a boxful to give someone.
If you use a coffee jar for a bigger jar of snowballs you could always top it off with part of a childs sock......cut it off at the heel so the ankle part fits snug round the lid, tie ribbon tight near the top so it looks like a ski hat..............goggle eye on the jar and there's your snowman.
Being cheapskate I've done snowballs in gravy tubs............cover with white felt and add hat and eyes. Hope that helps.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary-op great ideas there! thanks so much for that, its made me feel much better as I was feeling a bit sorry for myself lol. I went out today on the hunt for crafty stuff...pipe cleaners. flannels, small jars, cheap pint glasses, big cheap box of christmas cards, christmas stickers etc.. and came back with none of it! No flipping flannels, pipe cleaners or small jars anywhere. Only pint glasses were £5 i think it was for 4, no christmas stickers yet but a bit early for those I guess and I guess im too early for the big boxes of christmas cards although they did have the 'luxury' 14 pack ones. I love living out of the way most of the time but at times like this I do wish there were more shops lol

Soba the baubles are great, thanks for the link ill definitely be giving them a try soon :)

Quality! Would this work with prehaps cutting out crepe paper and sticking to card or thicker paper in christmasey colours?
