another thing i love to do is make my own wrapping paper, I find that you can get huge rolls of brown paper quite cheaply. I have lots and lots of different stamps and I stamp them all over after measuring the size and it adds individuality to them. I also make my own paper bows. if you search paper bows there are many sites that show it, and really they are so addictive as you get going. I make mine from old magazines, I make even number of strips twist them as in the instructions and use a split pin through the middle adding them as I go until I have lots.

Do I dare mention I own this... ok I will on Anthea Turners Perfect Housewife Christmas Special DVD she creates her own gift wrap using potato prints.... I was thinking stamps would look really good or even stickers.
Every year I plan to really fancy my gifts up with wrap but buy the usual gift wrap set from BHS and just use that.
Hopefully this year I will rock the brown paper/frosted berries and gold wired ribbon look! Mind you it may be a different story with a little one pulling at the paper!
Making your own bows is fun and so addictive like Liesa says.
Here are some I made from magazine strips...
The bow in the second picture is made from pink ribbon and rather than using a paper fastener I sewed each layer together.
The gift wrap pack was from Tesco and I made a large sour cream container using the paper in the pack and crimped the edges using my paper roller. Then decorated with my bow and the tag!

Wuhoo, I too am gonna do make my own gifts for the first year. I have nearly finished my very first sock monkey. Also only just found out what snowman soup is, lol! Is there anyway we could compile a list of all the crafts with a link to the details or a picture? Sure it will be hard work to do on but just a thought. Thanks guys for everyones ideas.0

Made 3 tonight plus one left over, so that's 4 towards the total!
Haven't actually done any crafting towards Christmas apart from that, but have done a lot of planning and thinking and writing lists!
93!!!!!!!!!!!! Well done! Did you make different designs?

There is an A-Z of crafts sticky but doesn`t look like it has been used for a while.

I think that it would be a GREAT idea if someone knew how to do it, a brief outline of what each craft is or a link to it.. I would love to but I can't post links yet :rotfl::rotfl:
I am about to make some bows for use throughout the year, another thing I made this year was after 8 mints. I stole the idea but it is sooooo simple.
take 1 pack of extra strong mints, bash them senseless.. (is good to release some pre christmas annoyance) melt some darker chocolate in a thick saucepan - I do tend to add a little bit of butter and sometimes a little golden syrup and then put the crushed mints in. Tip out onto some greaseproof paper or similar and spread thinly.. leave to harden and then bash into chunks, pack them in cello wrap and tie with a bow and it makes a great pressie

Ahh I see, I don't knit ( I can I just don't enjoy doing it being a lefty I look and feel kackhanded) so could I use jumpers to recycle do you think?
I would have thought so as it says that once you felt it, it becomes able to cut without fraying and the gingerbread man is just 2x rectangle pieces sewed together and cut to the shape of the gingerbread man.0 -

Hi Poppy
Yes, I did a few different designs, but the bulk of them were done with an Ornare pricking stencil. It is my favourite technique for cardmaking, as I don't have to think about designs - just push holes through the templates with a special needle! I did a rectangular design and in the middle of them, when finished, I stuck some little mini postcards. I'm afraid I can't put up any pictures as I'm not allowed attachments or links yet.
This year I'm hoping to make them with some of my stamps, as I have loads of different Christmassy ones, but I keep going back to the pricking and the 'sticking bits on' designs!Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing
