Gorgeous Russian doll charm! She is adoreable.

Have just realised we're almost at the end of May and I have nothing to show yet. I must crack on!

I am sorry :o - I am the same, for every time I tick something off my list of things I want to do I add two more! I wish there were more hours in the day (and less of them spent at work:mad:).

I have made these makeup bags to put away for christmas pressies. Made using upholstery swatches I received and some recycled ribbon and lace added, they are lined with cream cotton (pillowcase). Cost next to nothing and were so simple to make and rather quick too (if you have a sewing machine that is). I have already posted these on the sewing thread and on my blog so apologies if you read both you will be sick of the sight of my little bags :o

Love the make up bags, apologies for being thick, but was it easy to put the zip in, as you can tell I'm a complete novice. xx

mum2one - yes it was quite easy. Lots of people are scared of tackling zips but it is really not bad at all, you will need a zip foot on the machine or you can do it by hand but it's not difficult (or I wouldn't have been able to do it :) ).

    sams, i LOVE your dolly
    love love love it

can i ask what you have made her face from please?
and how difficult on a scale of 1-10 would you say making her is?

i'm not a dolly person, but i NEED a dolly like her
    she is beautiful:T
Her whole body and face are made from soft stockinette, and she is stuffed and stitched to be a bit cuddly. She was a mix to make, the head and hair were a bit fiddly, but the body was not too bad. I used Vogue 7418 pattern and adapted it a little.

She is cuteness in a bucket isn't she? She was designed around the material which was chosen first.

Yes she was made using the Vogue pattern mentioned above, and adapted a little to suit what was required!
