This Canon is damn good too:

    Canon PowerShot A1100 IS

  • £99 Sony at Comet
Brilliant Camera (but the memory card is quite expensive as it's sony)

Key things to look for in a camera are: -
Lithium Battery (otherwise you'll end up always running out of juice)
ISO (you want the highest and lowest numbers possible)
    Optical Zoom (at least x3)
A decent brand (the samsung tend to have cheap lenses - Sony and FujiFilm are both safe bets though)
As long as you get one which is quite good on these it'll be fine for just taking everyday photos
    Hope this helps

Panasonic and Canon are good makes too. They take SD cards.
  • Oh yeah - I always forget about those brands cos we don't sell many of them! x

  • I've been really tempted by the panasonic TZ6 and TZ7 for a few weeks now. Cheapest I have seen are about £180 and £240 respectively. If anyone knows how I can get my hands (legally!) on either of these for less, I will be your best friend forever.

I got the TZ6 a few weeks ago from Amazon for £179. It's a great camera and there's fractioanl difference between the TZ6 and the model up (TZ7), if I remember right, the TZ7 does some sort of special video capture???

I am really pleased with mine, and it had rave reviews on Amazon and I wasn't disappointed.

    Would highly recommend.

That's what everyone says! I haven't read a bad word about either of them! I just need them to come down a little bit, or to nab a bargain!!

    Hello all,

As I said this camera is for use of taking photos when out on the p*** or of mates and family, not for a professional photographer wanabe or anything!

For the price and the reviews I've read it seems a decent camera for £62. It won't be the best one in the world but Kodak are usually decent.

One thing I am wondering is do you think there is a charger we could buy for this camera? It says it takes 'KODAK Alkaline RECHARGEABLE AA Batteries or equivalent' yet I've not read anything about a charger? This may sound silly but can we use my gf's unwanted Fujifilm camera charger to charge these batteries up or will that not work on these?

I know someone will know on here! Thanks

I forgot to say, if not I will buy a charger to go with it if there is one available. I hope it's not a case of having to buy new batteries every time they go flat, as from my experience they never last long when it comes to cameras...
