24 during the day (over the last week of so) if the house is occupied. 18 if it isn`t. Off at midnight and on again at 6am at 20 until I get out of bed.

Part of the Furniture 500 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
I turn it down to 17 when I go to bed and when we are at work. I tried turning it right down below 15 but the house got too cold and it took hours to warm back up again.

When we get back in, we whack it up to 20.

The temperature depends on where your thermostat is located though. If yours is set at say 18 but is located in a drafty hallway then your living room is likely to heat up to considerably higher than 18 before your hallway reaches that temperature and the thermostat kicks in and switches off the boiler. Similarly, If your thermostat is located in a snug living room, then that will heat up to 18 quickly and turn the boiler off, while the rest of the house may still be considerably cooler.

Yeah I think that could be our problem ,the thermostat is upstairs and its not too bad up there but freezing down here ,whats the solution ? :(
  • Other than move it I don't think there is one :( Ours is in the same place - despite us asking them to put it downstairs where it was easier for us to access. It's also where they've placed the radiator that doesn't have a thermostat on it - so the landing gets toasty and we freeze.

We only have 3 thermostats :(
  • my 19.5 degrees comes on at 6am and goes off at 10.30pm. If I was wandering around in the night it would be cold, but as it is we wear pyjamas and have duvets I very rarely wake up because it is cold.
