What temperature is your central heating on at the moment

Options
I have just moved into a new home and I am not too sure what we should have the heating on at the moment. It is on between 60 and 65 (f i think!).

What does everyone else have theirs on at?

  • mine's in centigrade and is 19.5 in living areas, which i think is considered to be fairly modest - i would have thought yours is positively nippy and I think, as a guide, there are health and safety rules in offices about office temps as low as yr hse!!

    Around 15-16C

If I'm inside I don't wander about in shorts and t-shirts.
    Plenty warm enough.

Mine is on around 14C which is cold if you are sitting about but fine if you are cooking or doing housework. The reason it's so low is the flat needs to remain at a constant temperature to avoid condensation (design faults with property) whilst still keeping costs down (electric heating).

Why have the heating so high? Tis like an average British summer in the 20's?

We are warm blooded creatures, don't need such heating.
Smaller regular meals, and drop the thermostat.

Those of us who are not mobile, and have health problems which means that we feel the cold a lot (think permanent flu) just need the thermostat up. It is an (expensive) fact of life!
