I went ot my local Tesco this afternoon at about 2.45 and the reduced section was full. As I got there the young lad reducing told his friend all the meat was to be reduced by 80% and everything else to 20p. I got 8 salmon fillets reduced from £10.00 to 20p. I also got two lovely bunches of tulips reduced from £30.00 to £1.00. There was loads more in the reduction cabinet but I decided not to be greedy and left plenty for others. Perhaps the Terry's chocolate orange people should take note!0

Talk about being in the right place at the right time! That's just the sort of bargain I'd been hoping for to set my freezer up for the next six months. I'm with you on the greed issue too. Annoying isn't it!0

We just happened to be passing a tesco extra on the way back from sale shopping yesterday and decided to pop in to get sone milk and bread, walked past the reductions chiller and they were reducing whole raw chickens to 50p, packs of sirloin steaks to 50p from £6-7.
We got a bit but knew we had very little freezer space ! They had their normal garlic baguettes down to to 5p and had 100s of them, quiches 10p. I got 4 packs of the ready cooked peppered salmon slices which were £6 a pack or 2 for £10, these were 50p a pack.
Could have got 4 trolley loads, there were a few people who were snatching it out of the hands of the staff as soon as it was reduced, they each had a big trolley which seemed to over flowing with all yellow labled things.
This was an extra which had been open on boxing day too and is open today0 -

Wow, £30.00 tulips, were they real gold?0 -
I pass a Tesco Express on the school run and have got into an awful habit of glancing across through the window to exactly the part of the fridge where they put any whoopsies. If it looks pretty full I call in on my way back!
Even if I call in for something specific I always check the fridge and bread shelf for any price reductions and I nearly always get something useful.
We're off into town today and there's a Tesco Express which I think will have been pretty quiet over Christmas, so I might take a detour just to check!0 -

Asda was very disappointing. All the counters (deli, fish, indian, chicken) were all closed except for the prepacked stuff (e.g. chicken portion, prepacked hams). There were about 3 product lines on the chilled reduced counter: pork pies (10p), chicken jalfrezi (£1.50) and some salad pot thing. No reductions on the fruit/veg, again shelves were very empty.
Tesco Extra was a lot better. Bearing in mind they were open yesterday too, they had some good discounts. Every fridge/trolley/cardboard box in the store seemed to have packs of cocktail sausage (10p). Every staff member seemed to be reducing these sausages too (I think someone ordered too many!) and every customer seemed to be buying them! They also had mini pizzas reduced to 12p each. Indian counter had most lines reduced by up to 50% (rice 40p, curries £1.xx). Reductions on nearly everything in the fruit/veg section. Deli had a number of products (olives, pies, etc) prepacked into plastic tubs which were already heavily reduced.
Overall, a very good shop at Tesco. Bought quite a few products that we needed anyway. We now have an entire shelf in our freezer dedicated to cocktail sausages!!
