Best Bold 9700 Contract [Value for Money]
Hi All
I've been reading this forum for a while; finally decided to make myself an account and get posting!
I'm after a Bold 9700, and i've done some browsing around - called up the big 4 provides and received quotes and deals from TMob and Orange. I just wondered if anyone has received particularly good deals. I've come to learn that there isn't a "best package" out there as it largely depends on the end users preferences. I've come up with a way of calculating the cost of a contract to work out if its a good deal though.
I simply work out the average monthly cost (inclusive of blackbery service cost and phone cost divided by contract length added to the monthly line rental), and then divide this number by the number of minutes on the package (as talktime is the most important, and everyone seems to be giving text's out on their plans like theres no tomorrow) to work out the cost per minute i'll be charged on the plan. Sounds weird, but it works for me.
The best quote I've got is from Orange. New customer, new plan, free Bold 9700, 24 month contract, 1200 mins, 500 texts, BB service (email + internet). It's the Panther 40 plan if anyone's wondering and comes in at £31.25 average. Cost per minuite is 2.6p/min assuming i use 1200 mins in my month.
What d'yall think of it? Anyone doing anything significantly better that I've missed out on?
Thanks to all.:D

Got mine from mobiles.co.uk. £50 cashback via quidco. £30 per month for 24 month contract. 9 months half price via redemption. 500 mins talk 600 texts unlimited data I think it averages out around £22 per month.0

Hmm thats not a bad deal at all. £22 contract's decent provided you remember to claim in the stated time period.0

Cheers Foggy, that's the type of deal I've been looking for.0

Seen a better one than the one i previously talked about. £30 for Panther 40 at CPW, again for 24m. Are 24 month deals really that bad, even with a new phone like the bold 97000

I didnt want a 24 month contract - got 18 month deal
So I went direct with Orange.co.uk via cashback site (£50 fingers crossed)
Free 9700
Dolphin 40 - down to £35
900mins
unlimited text
magic numbers
£5 BlackBerry bolt on
but get 30% (friends and family) off so £28.22 a month for me
could have went Panther 40 and got 1200mins and 500 texts and wouldnt have needed the blackberry bolt on - for £23 ish but though 100 texts over my bundle would be £10 so better to get unlimited and know my contract is offering unlimted text/email/intrernet and 900 mins0 -
£20.83 p/m with dialaphone over 24 months (using quidco) with voda- 700 mins, unlimited texts
and buymobilephones.net - 18 months with t-mobile - 700 mins, unlimited texts plus blackberry, £35 a month, 6 months free, £20 quidco, average per month £22.220
