    Hi soolin,

sorry I dont understand the gargon yet.
Is NPB the same as the "Cancel a transaction" form from bonytony guide?
    Don't know what a mutual or FVF's back..again sorry.

What would your advise be? I know you are very knowledgeable and respected on this board and your advise would be most grateful.

    Thanks / Sarah

Yes the cut and paste on a previous post assumes that the payment has not been received by day 4, so you cannot do that until exactly 4 days has passed, even if you do start the NPB (non paying bidder) dispute the buyer still has a further 4 days to pay which puts you out of time. Also you cannot 'cancel' a transation, ebay jargon is horribly misleading as it implies you can forget about it and start again, which is NOT the case.

FVFs (Final Value fees) were due on the original sale, if you do a second chance offer then they will be payable on the second sale as well, a second chance offer (SCO) does not cancel out the original transaction. Therefore you do need to go through the full NPB which takes 8 days to reclaim your original FVFs.

There is nothing to stop you offering an official second chance offer (SCO) now and getting the tickets out to the buyer, assuming he is there to accept the offer, today. The worse case scenario with that would be that you then get paid by the original buyer which means you would not then be able to reclaim your first set of FVFs so will end up paying them twice, plus you may get a negative.

You need to decide whether or not to risk that scenario and just go for a SCO now while you have time.

    Thanks again soolin.

I have clicked the SCO button and I will have to wait to see what happens and keep my fingers crossed.

I wish ebay made it that buyers had to pay immediately, as you would in a shop, it would save so much trouble.

    Cheers Sarah

If you have a BIN auction then you can set it so that the buyer can't win unless they pay. For an auction though it wouldn't be possible as buyers place proxy bid so may not be around when the auction ends.

Incidentally, if these tickets are for something popular you might want to check out the sites like seatwave that will sell them on at face value for you.

Your problem now is that even if you chance a second chance offer you would need to ship today to get the tickets there in time, if the other potential buyer accepts the offer you would need them to pay and get to the PO quickly, is that possible?

tomorrow is the last delivery date before Christmas and even then in some areas the service can be limited. Satruday may well also be patchy and of course standard next day delivery doesn't automatically cover Saturday.

Have you phoned the original buyer?

it will be more than patchy, its a no service day ;)

The buyer finally contacted me, and said she had sent me a msg as soon as the auction ended with her mob nbr and to say she requested to pay cash on collection. Definately not had any msgs from her and thought it odd that when I mentioned that I phoned her home ctc number that she said that line was not working.

It all sounds a bit dodgy but Im going to have to run with it now. I asked her if she will pay me by paypal but as a gift payment as its too late for me to resell. Whether she will or not remains to be seen, I still think she's hedging her bets to see what the weather is like, so Im not holding my breath.

eBay messages are notoriously unreliable, so she may be telling the truth.
