Sophie is famous!!
She is an absolutely ace teether - I don't regret shelling out £11 for mine. By the time you have bought several other teethers you may as well have bought Sophie because she does the lot!

Hmm baby has been asleep for 3 hours, i'm unimpressed, she hasn't slept for more than an hour til now, think it's another bad night for me  Feel like waking her up but it's nice and peaceful
Has your milk come in? Could be why she's more settled. Is the name decided on? Same as Tia's little one (I know you didn't want to shout about on here).
Henry's in bed so I'm settling down to a cheapy Baileys with my mint choc Yankee candle lit. It seems so peaceful, even with the sniffles from the baby monitor. I don't think you appreciate peace until you have children!
A very, very Merry Christmas to all my very special online friends. I hope you all have a very special day tomorrow.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

How much would they have told me about the birth? I don't recall all that much of it, and while watching TV today, it came up in conversation with OH. He seems to think they did CPR on LO before he started breathing. I remember him being blue, and them taking him off me, but other than that, I don't remember much. No-one told me, and I never saw his notes, only mine. Is OH likely mistaken? All these would be in his birth notes wouldn't it? Anyone requested these notes? Sorry.
Happy Xmas Eve all
There is a bit of help to clear out the airways and proper resuscitation. Most babies need a bit of help and they will use the air bag thingy (you know to force air in) on them and maybe offer a bit of oxygen. They call that ventilated I think, baby is breathing on their own after a few breaths and its just to encourage them. It can look pretty rough, because they do pat at the chest to encourage blood flow to the heart and poke at them to make them cry. This may have been what your OH saw?
DS1 was resuscitated (because he failed to breathe on his own and his heart rate had dropped once he entered the birth canal and then delivery was prolonged due to him sliding back up) for 15 mins, which I remember very little about other than one image of them squeezing his feet then pricking his heel to encourage him to cry/breathe. I couldn't even tell you when and how it happened or tbh, if it did actually happen. They told me later on why and how it was done, when I was more awake and alert.
You should be de breifed about the birth if there has been complications, which with your PE there was. If that hasn't happened, call up and request it. Probably easier for that to be done over the phone for you.
I did request DS2's notes, very easy to do, but it does cost. If you can, you can speak to your GP who can go through them with you, can be done over the phone I'd assume, but I have a feeling a signature is needed somewhere. To request notes, call your loacal PALS who will tell you who and where to write too. Mine cost me about £40 for mine and DS2's, but my notes were HUGE. You will still need someone to go through it with you.0 -
Hi everyone!! Firstly merry christmas!! i make my way here finally from the pregnancy thread. Congrats to beenie , sorry its late, ive not been on too much since having Toby but am starting to find a lil more time now fingers crossed!!
Just wanted to ask a quick question about breastfeeding. Toby is just over 5 weeks old and I am breastfeeding him. However he still feeds quite regularly, about every couple of hours during the day, a ittle longer at night. And sometimes its hard to tell one feed from the next, as hes so asleep after say 10 mins on 1 side, but then he may wake say half hour later and have 5 more mins, then half hour later and have say 4 more mins. Should i be making more effort to get him feeding again sooner, or is this quite normal for his age?
Thanks in advance!!Baby Toby born 17th Nov 09 :j0 -
Xmas is cancelled.

I spent all day at the hospital with Maddy, her fontanelle was bulging when she woke today. Ben has slept all day and wouldn't eat. Then he woke and was sick and now crashed out again. He doesn't even realise it's Xmas Eve. Lunch was at DD's so we can't go anywhere now. Looks like it will be pasta tomorrow.Too many children, too little time!!!0 -

tara, I agree with MFD, just have Christmas a couple of days late when you can all enjoy it together.
Did the docs say anything to you? Maybe a good days sleep will be good for Ben, he might have brightened up a bit by the morning.
