Cloned? You mean someone has changed the plates?
I think you should contact the police anyway, highly unlikely but say the poor sod who owned it is in a ditch somewhere?0 -

There was a untaxed car in the next street to me and i had a slight disagrement with the driver (he parked on pathment and i couldnt get a pram past with son in it ) so i reported it to DVLA on website , It was removed about 4 days later.0

DVLA, Council and Police all seem disinterested in doing anthing. So i thought id do something my self.
You'd have to check the chassis number too. You'd also have to make reasonable steps to find the owner (not just inform the agencies) such as placing an advert in the local paper saying something like: 'ABC 123, Audi A3 in silver. Would the owner, keeper or anyone with information on the owner/keeper please get in touch. Box 222.'
The Local Authority would definitely be interested in a car that had been dumped on a road since August. Who knows - they might even welcome you taking it off their hands. You can only ask. It's best to communicate with officials.
Out of interest, have you looked at what you would do next to get the car registered and taxed?0 -
i agree with the person that they the DVLA would have to use their database and try to track down the last known keeper before anyone else could claim it, plus who would you pay for the car ie: who would profit out of it? out of curiosity...0

Use a V62 to register it. The DVLa will write to the current ownwer telling them someone is trying to register the car, if they domnt reply with in 14 days I get issued a V5 in my name. I'll then SORN the car, park it at the bottom on the farm and break it up for parts to flog on ebay0 -
Well, the car is STILL there. And as the weather is changing, all trees and shrubs are starting to grow over it.........0
