Mobiles

Hi all,

I will try and keep this simple-

I changed O2 Contract to a 30 day rolling one (apparently for the same sort of deal), then was hit with a big bill over £150. I have never gone over my allowance before and I have no idea how it happened (tried disputing it but to no avail).
Obviously I said I couldn't pay and they said it would be cut off unless I pay half now and half next month (not possible).
So I had a brainwave and asked if I took an 18 month contract would I be able to get cashback to cover the bill? Was told yes (twice I checked) then when I rang to go ahead was told no, so I complained and was told yes...then I rang today and apparently they put it all through but the 'system' stopped it.
Was told I'd get a call back, but they haven't, and when I called them their systems are down (AGAIN).

Ok so here is my question-

I have rang the OR office and they said I can include the O2 debt, and that I can take a new mobile contract but will have to tell the new company I am BR as of this morning...
Now I wouldn't want to question the OR office but do I need to tell them? I thought it was only over £500 credit you had to tell them? Also I am keen to go to Tesco (seen a very good offer) but if I tell them I am BR I don't have a chance of being accepted do I? So I am destined for a pay as you go only sim yes? I cannot be without a mobile (Impending very high risk birth) so am not just being a princess just want to get the cheapest deal and make sure I don't get cut off...

Just wanted clarification on this please.

Thank you :)

    Hi all,

Ok so here is my question-

I have rang the OR office and they said I can include the O2 debt, and that I can take a new mobile contract but will have to tell the new company I am BR as of this morning... the receivers are slightly correct....although including the o2 debt will mean you loose your number & have no chance of another contract with them for a while.
Now I wouldn't want to question the OR office but do I need to tell them? I thought it was only over £500 credit you had to tell them? that is correct BUT seeing as most mobile providers credit check you'll probably fail anyhow Also I am keen to go to Tesco (seen a very good offer) but if I tell them I am BR I don't have a chance of being accepted do I? for a contract? probably not..you'll fail the credit check So I am destined for a pay as you go only sim yes? afraid so possibly till your discharged at least unless you look at another 30day contract..tesco PAYG is one of the better deals out there anyhow at the minute (the double credit thingie) I cannot be without a mobile (Impending very high risk birth) so am not just being a princess just want to get the cheapest deal and make sure I don't get cut off...the receiver will inform o2 of your bankruptcy and the account being included as a creditor they WILL terminate the contract & the number including cuting the phones service off so I suggest you get a replacement PAYG sim/phone soon as you can.

Just wanted clarification on this please.

    Thank you :)

    Just a few thoughts

Tesco is great on Pay as you go
you top up £20 quid then they give you £40 free credit - once a month

we have that much credit as we only seem to get through the free credit except when you ring an 08 number

IF the contract is NOT included in your bankruptcy then it'll carry on as normal...you'd even be entitled to an upgrade if you stay with the same provider once your conttract is coming to an end

The receivers do allow a mobile allowance in your SOA anyhow as long as its not too excessive
