Grocery budget is £180-£200 which includes alchol, toiletries and some food if we're lucky :D

    That's hilarious :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
:D2010 MFW Challenge No. 112 Mortgage paid in full 27/08/10 I was MF!!!:D
But now I'm not - (Joint) Mortgage £104704.
    New MFW target £5000 overpayments by 31/12/2105 £400/£5000 = 8%
    SAVINGS TARGET - £25000 by 31/12/2015 £13643/£25000 = 55%

  • I have no idea what my 'personal' spends are, but not very much (probably about £40 p/month??)

That would include mostly trollbeads off ebay at the moment!:D

Having a dramatic rethink of lifestyle and priority at the moment so may need to up it a bit in order to 'get a life', but it certainly won't go up to more than say £60 a month.

In fact, that's what I'll go for starting January 1st.

    PO xx

    Honestly? No :rotfl:
But I'm going to have a darned good go. Watch this space :D

(and it's still 4x the eat healthily for 50p/day challenge so *should* be feasible)

I get £30 per week, my wife gets £100 per week, work that one out!

We also spend £100 on one nice meal per month.

When I need new clothes etc I just work a few hours overtime to cover it.

I have £550 spare each month. £450 goes into 2 savings accounts (ISA and normal) and I allow myself around £100 pm on personal spends and this will include, coffees out ( 1 per week), eating out £40, Magazine £5, perhaps a CD £10 plus anything else which isn't classed as essential. If I don't spend £100 then the remainder goes into my ISA.

I have tried to get by on about £50 pm but gave up on that as life should be for living. You should work hard, save hard, treat yourself ( and never feel guilty), after all whats the point being too frugal if it doesn't make you happy?

Good for you on the overtime thing, now if your wife is ever poorly and you need someone to accompany you on your meal I will help out;)

    I love the wifes spends!!

I think I am going to try for £75 each per month. For me that will have to include mobile phone, wine:eek:, make-up, books, CDs, take aways, hairdresser, magazines, clothes, omg just about everything except household bills, pets, diesel and groceries!

Will give the £50 per week groceries a go again, I know this may seem a lot for just two of us, but I need to work on it!!
