Ames - as no one else answered, what do you think Ishould do about having been on anti-d's for five years now? That seems a long time to be on them and I don't know anyone else who has been on them this long

Surely they can't still be helping me especially as I am so teary at the moment, but worry that coming off them would be too much as well?

I've been on them pretty much for the last 12 years (since 1st one born) have a conversation with your GP about a plan to reduce your use of them

Tenmah, my mum has been on anti d's for a year. I wouldn't worry about it. If I had to be on them for years I would be, I wouldn't ever not take them until a doctor says it was okay to. I did that years ago and ended up under psychiatric care for a while.

I have to say, I found counselling incredibly helpful when I had depression the first time round (I am currently awaiting more counselling). I am not sure anti d's help on their own unless you get to the root of your problem.

Maz.....please post, I often feel that when I am 'down' I want to run away and hide and not post so as not to 'upset' anyone. However, I do know from experience that people who meet me in real life would be extremely surprised to find that I have suffered from depression, so i think it is good that we all discuss this.

    I will shut up now....

Off to the bunny warren - might not get time to post again tonight.....so see you all tomorrow....

Tenmah, I think it depends on why you're on them. I've been on them on and off since I was 15, now I've finally found ones that help (which are the right type, I wasted years being given ssri's, which are no good for my type of problem) I'll be on them for life. I really don't think it's on though that your doctor just hands out your repeat scripts without asking how you're doing! Maybe a chat to a different doctor in the practice would be best? Sometimes a different opinion really helps. I also agree with Sammy, tablets have their place, but it all depends on the underlying cause, and if that isn't addressed then the problem will never be solved.

Def talk to a doctor, or even your pharmacist - I've had great advice from them in the past.

I've just realised I have food for xmas, food for after xmas, but no food for before xmas. Silly Ames.

Thanks everyone. It just seemed a long time to be on them. Initially it was a few things, the biggest one being my Mum dying. So I am never gonna get over that!

I did have a counselling session but it was no help at all, when I said I probably wouldn't go again, she said Oh good that will be another one off our list, whereas I was hoping she would suggest I carry on.

I'm watching a James May programme about girls toys....they just had the 70's treehouse toy on there - I loved mine - I want another one!!!!!

Got DH's chair out to take him out for a walk and one of the brackets that holds the seat in place has sheared off - so it fell apart in my hands - Phoned the company we got it from, they're sending a replacement part 1st class but doubt it will get here before xmas (they were really lovely though and were so apologetic). Ah well - at least he doesn't have any appointments to get to in the next week or so. Bit of a pain knowing that you're going to be housebound though.

    Not really good enough though.
    Not surprised they were apologetic.
Thats the one good thing if you have a NHS one~this lovely man comes out to do running repairs as needed.

Sal, I'm ready as in the house is tidy, my hair is done, and I've managed to do my make-up so it doesn't look like a 3 year old has done it, so I guess that's ready!

He said 5-ish, but that means 'a time that begins with a 5', so I guess in the next 40 minutes or so.

How did I get so hugely fat overnight?
