Has anyone got any idea what i could do with felt and foam? I seem to have loads of it and haven't a clue what to use it for, Any links would be great!

One year I bought some basic notepads and got the kids to cut out shapes and letters in foam to personalise the cover of them. They made them for their teachers and also for their friends. They looked quite cool - they added a few other bits, flowers made from fabric scraps, stickers.....and so on.

    Hi girls,
As you can see I'm only doing easy projects and have seen these, which look easy to make but having trouble finding paper/card-I can only find plain card/paper, can anyone suggest anywhere that might do more Christmassy paper? I thought about wrapping paper, but think it'll be too thin.

Do you have a printer? If so, there are loads of sites with free downloadable paper you could print out:

    http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/christmas_scrapbook_paper.htm

http://s60.photobucket.com/albums/h33/babalu123456/weihnachten/?start=0 - this site has pages of free Christmas decoupage and papers.

    http://hubpages.com/hub/christmas-scrapbook-paper

    http://s230.photobucket.com/albums/ee98/sandychelles/

These are just the first few I found but they seem to have plenty of choice.

If you don't have a printer then I recommend checking out Ebay as I'm sure they'll be plenty on there :)

    Star Garland- http://www.craftideas.info/html/stars_garland.html

There are a few other felt projects here:

    Hope that helps.

I love the Christmas quilt/wall hanging I saw on one of those links.....not sure that my sewing is up to scratch yet though, need to start with something easier I think!

I just had a lovely lady who's new in town come over and show me how to work my sewing machine in exchange for being able to use it to make her curtains :D

I am very excited and will do my best to make something Christmassy. I'm thinking of starting off with a simple gift bag and perhaps I will be able to make a tablecloth for Christmas Day.

Also I know you said silver but do consider gold too, Ive been told that if I ever find myself about to go ont he streets at least I will have some gold to sell hahaha Saying that though my poor dad forked out a fortune for my graduation charm for it :S.

Well Im thinking silver for now, and then if she prefers wearing gold when older, we could start again with a gold one for her 18th or something....

Mum2one - thanks for that! I'm sure it'll be clear when she's older as to when she'll be ready to have it.

Cdsmiler - Pips 1st Birthday was Jan 9th so very close to Chrimbo the same as your LO. We got him a trike, here is the girls version:

    http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Bikes-and-Rideons/Trikes/Smart-Trike-Plus-in-Rosetto(0076557)

It adapts loads so he can use it now but also when he is bigger. It seems like a lot of money but we just got him the 1 present. He is too little to notice Mummy and Daddy only bought 1 pressie.

I am getting caught up with all the fab ideas x x

Thanks Pips Mum! We'll look at that! And you're right, we're only getting one thing. However, we're also making a list of other things for family and friends to choose from!! lol :D

    Welcome supa-girl!

Nickybo - your teddy bears picnic sounded fab!!!!

Right, have to leave it there - up to post 2943 but need to disappear! Will catch up on the other posts tomorrow!!

    Well here's the rest!

Toffeeapple – are they the flannel reindeers you made?? They’re lovely!

Mum2one – congrats to Miss Hoodie for her dancing!

Elysia – argh! What a day with the furniture and carpet!!

Beachlou – love those origami stars!

Hope everyone's doing well. I'm really jealous of those of you doing crafty stuff - I just haven't got the time (or SPACE!) to do anything like that this year - managed to do cross stitch cards last year before DD was born, but they didn't take up too much space and now I'm knackered in the evenings. Maybe I should just be more proactive.... lol Would love to so more sewing stuff - you know, PROPER sewing like making things out of material! lol I made some cusion covers and my mum quided me in making curtains a few years ago, but nithing since. Need a sewing machine too really. lol

Wanted to ask you lovely ladies (and our one token gent!) your thoughts on an advent calendar for DD? SHe'll be 1 on the 17th December. Do I bother this year or make more of it next year (or the year after?!)? And if I do bother, what type? What have you all done for your children?

    Hello all :j
Scrapbooks finished at last !!!!:rotfl:Am I relieved or what !!!:p

Now its on to doing little hearts, trees and stars out of the freebie fabric I've been hoarding........think I'm almost there with most of the christmas presents -just ''bloke'' ones I get a bit stuck with but no doubt I'll find something.
    Other stuff to do
Paint some pebbles with words like Peace, Be Happy, stuff like that (plenty of pebbles in the garden -if it stops raining !)
    Cover 4 shoe boxes
Make a couple more flannel snowmen
Get some cheap A5 notebooks and cover them for journals

Think that might be about it apart from 3 yr old grandson and I've not a clue there
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
