Hello all :j
Did well this morning - routed through a load of notebooks I've been bought over the years and thought I may as well re-vamp them as xmas presents.........so, bit of glue, ribbon and some left over floral bits I've done about 6 !! Couple will make good gardening journals (pictures of flowers on), one will make a nice sketch book for sons girlfriend, little black one is going to be grandsons 'little black book', and the others will make good journals/diaries or whatever folk want to do with them.
Trouble is, I think everyone will be inundated with notebooks of one sort or another.......I've done some little ones for shopping lists and some post it notes to hang on the wall............think must put a stop to notebooks now and think of something else.;)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Welcome Rainbow and MrsGibbs, I hope you enjoy it with us, it's great being organised for Christmas isn't it?
Mary - those notebooks sound fab. I was thinking of you yesterday - I made some gravy and used the last of the granules. I almost put the tub in the bin but then thought of you and decided to save it and do something with it, not decided what yet though, can you give me some insipration?!
Fedup - well done on being so organised! Those gardening hampers sound excellent
Susan - can't wait to see pictures of your latest creation!
Rufus - that's a great win on the tombola, what a lovely surprise.
Good news, I have finally been in a Home Bargains so now I know what I've been missing! One has opened up about 5 minutes from where I work. DH wanted to look at a used car garage very close to the Home Bargains, so I suggested we nip in on the way home just to 'check it out'. As soon as we walked in I picked up a basket and he said 'I thought you were just looking!'. He still hasn't learnt
I didn't have much time but I managed to buy 2 Christmas presents for DS as well as various bits and bobs. Best thing was that DH was quite impressed with the shop and actually suggested popping in regularly on the way home from work, woohoo!!! :TMaking money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Welcome rainbow:) nice to see you here.
I`ve blogged a card that I made with the new machine...I`m still working out a way to decorate the box, has anyone got a rhyme handy for snowman snowballs...I tried googling but you can imagine what I`m getting...:rotfl::rotfl:
I too love home bargains nicky, pop in most weeks as their stock rotates so quickly, a word of advice, if you think its a bargain...buy it, a lot of things are never replaced and next time you go in it probably wont be there
I too had a bit of a turn making notebooks mary and am now planning other things
And thxs to elysia, I sat last night colouring in my stamps for cards, I noticed she did it on her blog and thought ooooh what a good idea, dont half save some time...;)Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -

Rufus, well done on your prize! I hope the watch works. Did you get any inspiration from the quilt show? I'd be terrible, I'd want to make it all, get home and lose motivation.
I took some notes down in my book while there of things to do. Just a case of getting on with it. There were a couple of stalls there which were proper shops, not just craft stalls, but I got an idea from there to make some spare quilts and use them as table cloths for the stall.
My son gave me a couple of metres of brown fur that he had bought to make himself a fancy dress outfit (Teen Wolf) but couldnt work out how to do it so gave it to me. I used to make teddy bears years ago and have just found the pattern for them (it was my Mum's pattern originally and it still has her name on the front in her handwriting which brought a lump to my throat when I saw it) so I am going to cut out some bears and then make dresses for them.
I have also been making some fabric gift tags. I had the idea when I was given a eyelet tool with some gold coloured eyelets the other day. I was wondering what I could do with them and while tidying up my craft room came across some of those brown coloured tags you buy in a pack. I went online and copied some text saying Merry Christmas in different styles and then printed them out the right size and traced them onto some white fabric. Then I am embroidering the words while sitting watching tv of an evening, doesnt take long to do. Once done I have cut out around it to the shape of the tag with a bit over for seams and then cut out an opposite side out of Christmassy fabric and sewed them together. Then set an eyelet into the end. I am pleased with the way they look. I have ordered a reel of red ribbon to thread through the holes.
Anyway off to do some more bits as have so many projects on the go, need to get some out of the way xx0 -
For anyone who is looking to do a carwash hamper this year, Halfords have bogof offers on all of their products. You can buy Autoglym valeting kit which has wheel cleaner, glass cleaner shampoo and wax etc for £25 and get the same again free! I need to pull a visit in to put away for OH and his dad for Christmas. Products start from about £6 for this make, and my OH swears by it!Motto: You gotta be in it to win it!:j

Thanks for that Foxy. I have an awkward nephew to buy for!
Rufus the tags sound great, I have a cropadile which is a fancy eyelet tool. If you could find one really cheap - the patterned eyelets would look brilliant, and would be great for all sorts of stuff.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Hello all :j
Having a really lazy day today........been going through bookshelves to see what I can re-cycle in the way of pressies (found a few) but the rest had to go back to overflowing shelves  well for today anyway.
Nicky -gravy tub ideas...........here's a few
Mini pamper pot if you've got any free samples
Pot of snowballs -cover with white paper-stick snowman on and fill with white maltezers/bon bons
Fill with bon bons and pop childs face mitt (christmassy one) childs size fits a treat
Cover with any paper and pop some socks inside
Pic 'n mix'........fill with little quotes and sweets
Fill with sherbert lemons, cover with images of sunshine and its a 'pot of sunshine'
Similar with mixed colour sweets and images of rainbow for 'pot of rainbows'
Cover with gold paper, fill with gold covered sweets for 'pot of gold'
Use them for 'survival kits'.......the joke sort (losing marbles etc.)
Can't think of anything else at the minute but they make good gift containers for anything really.

Hope everyone ok, and big hi to our new friends.
Been organised and went to the market, found a very cheap stall,
box of 8 voile candles for 50p, me being me, brought the rest of her stock (8 boxes),
2 onyx egg cup holders only 50p each, there going in the mini hamper for aunt and uncle.
boys England quilt covers £2 each or 3 for £5 (got the 3)
Also got set of childrens hairbubbles + clip sets, set of 3 for £1 - each set different colour and carded seperately, (got 2 of them), split them up.
Found B+Ms in Rhyl, they've taken over the old Woolies store, had a wonder round -
dk wool 100g 89p
Umbro ladies deordrants - roll on and spray 2 for £1.00
Fab coffee mug - the saying - men, chocolate, wine - all good but better if there rich - 59p - ready for xmas mug.
Miss Hoodie - Booster seat £4.99 - got arm pieces on it - bless her shes got Graco car seat in mine + dads car, but shes got the neck extended that far up, shes taller than it, so figured instead of stripping it down for booster seat - should get at least £5 each for them.
Went for a tour round Rhyl (very exicting!!), but were coming up 4 weekend in Sept - highlight see a show - for weekend shopped around cheapest break, - thought we'd better find it, wow it looks posh....... gated barrier entry, posh reception - club area, and on way out found a short cut, facing Home Bargains - and its got parking spaces outside!!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
