Sorry but that is extremely coy.

A reminder of Martin's post about this board:
It's about......It's here to help people find out what they are entitled to under the current system, and to help them get it. Benefits do provide a lifeline for many, and this site is here to help people with their money, and not to judge.Torgwen..........

I am a little bit saddened by some of the replies to the op's post.
Do get the Son to write a detailed letter as posted earlier, the council will help although it may be a B & B for a while. Alternatively, invite him into your home and charge him nominal amount for board - this way he will be able to save up a deposit for his own place.
I am sure your father is quite upset at losing his home of 12 years and I am sure he would be proud to know that you want to help him.
Good luck, I hope you manage to get some more detailed advice on here that will help you and your father.0 -
There really is no need for this. Nobody here knows the family circs and should not judge. Giving someone life does not always deserve a life time of dedication and putting yourself out especially at the consequence of building your own family.
To the OP your father can register as homeless whilst he still has somewhere to live if he is at risk of homlessness. He needs to speak to the council to do this he can also register for public housing and be bumped up the list as homeless. Though depending on where he lives and unless he has special circs like disability he could still wait forever for this being male.
Also here Age Concern have details of self contained flats which have wardens in that can be accessed quickly. You could check that out if would be suitable for him and you have and Age Concern office near you.0 -
He has my sympathies. Let this be a warning to anyone who is living in someone elses home. You have no right to live there and you are only there by the grace and favour of the owner !Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Check out what you father would be able to claim to help with his rent etc www.entitledto.co.ukMama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0

Sorry but that is extremely coy.
oooh £40.....yeh right....
What's coy about it? He has far more left once the essentials have been paid than many people on these boards and its only £20 less than the total amount he'd get on JSA and he hasn't even got any food or heating bills to pay out of it.0 -
Whilst maybe not ideal at his age is there any reason why he can't live in a house share? I've done it several times and it's not actually as bad as it sounds... Especially if you find somewhere with people you actually enjoy the company of. My next door neighbours are best of friends and now live in the 2nd house they have BOUGHT together... they are in no ways a couple - they merely enjoy each others company and couldn't afford to live as single nurses in anything vaguely as nice...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
I surely hope he gets more help and sympathy from Shelter than he has been shown here so far. The man hasn't just lost his home he has lost his partner of 12 years, might be nice if people recognized that.0
