There was a false alarm on my birthday last Monday, so had lots of greetings then! I'm having a nice day pottering around at home, don't have to go anywhere, no pressure, marvellous!

    Hi All

Purpleivy Happy Birthday - hope you have a great day:bdaycake:

Thank you for the good wishes re the hospital but as you can see I am back home again. Got to the hospital about 7 o'clock, have been sitting there looking very attractive(not!) in my surgical stockings and bracelets (and starving) and at 12.30 they told me that they would have to cancel it as the High Dependancy Bed I was supposed to be going into after the op had to be used for an emergency! These things happen.

I am now suppose to be having the operation on Wednesday afternoon:eek: which is a bit too near Christmas for my liking. I know that I will be in at least 1 night which takes me to christmas eve but if I am in 2 which they told me is likely I won't get out until Christmas Day:eek:

So I am thinking I might not be having my champagne and bacon sandwich breakfast this year:rolleyes: That is if they go ahead with it on Wednesday of course. Anyway these things can't be helped and there is no good me sitting and worrying about it after all so will just have to see what happens next. Some poor person ended up as an emergency so it just makes you grateful it isn't you!

So at a bit of a loose end now , I had left their tea all organised so might indulge and watch christmas films now. Worse thing is I will have to go back into work tomorrow and explain to everyone and go through the whole thing again on wednesday. Ah well

Hope your days are turning out OK

    Happy birthday Purple! :bdaycake:

Where is this birthday list people speak of?

Hmm had a STRANGE day. Been into work, some people didnt even make it in -hungover? No bosses, nothing to do. Cleared my drawers of 9 years of carp, printed my payslips and left early. :p

Tomorrow is my last day then no job. Its weird - there were people crying and all sorts , I just want to walk out the door - with no tears, so have asked my team not to mention it's my last day (else ill end up bawling):o

Heading to town soon to wrap presents between 5 and 7, then home and relax hopefully. Not much OS today, made enough spaghetti pasta cream pesto thingmy last night so reheats tonight :money: Another load of washing has appeared but I can put that on later.

Feeling very detached from everything. Dishes to do before I head into town although I have about an hour to kill. House is pretty spotless but my bedroom is a bit of a mess - may sort that out later. Determined not to mess up the back room ,so resisting all natural urges to put things on the spare sofa and it become a dumping ground.:rotfl: Some habits are so hard to shift.

Hope everyone's well - hugs to you all xx

    4 sleeps is it? 28.gif21.gif26.gif10.gif

Edit - niclou - if you are in christmas day, then that's how it's supposed to be. Make boxing day (or what ever day) your honorary christmas ! That's what i would do...... xxxxx how frustrating though

Late afternoon visit from me :)

Hope everyone's ok and enjoying their day so far.

It looks very slippy outside and I can imagine how cold it is, although I don't feel brave enough to spend any time out there :D

I had mouse bother last night. Yucky things. One set a trap off, but managed to escape it. I heard them munching on the poison though, so hopefully I wont have trouble for much longer.

Saw friends today, which was lovely. Although I've drunk more tea than usual, so no doubt I will be paying several visits to the loo.

I now have a rather large turkey defrosting in the kitchen. There will be plenty left over after our christmas meal, so I will be looking at left over turkey meal plans :D

I've sorted out the fridge / freezer and cupboards for tomorrow's shopping delivery. Hopefully I haven't ordered too much, but probably have

Anyway, dinner needs sorting so need to tear myself away, for now :)
