You may have spoken too soon! The lure of Primark got me today and I spent £39.50, most of which is work wear but most of it is mix and match with the rest of my stuff in the wardrobe so should last me until it falls apart!!

Hello all & welcome to our latest recruit Outernet :hello:.
Happy New Clothes to all who have dipped into their allowance.
Swinstie73 - you are a very good girl for taking items back :A
lisainglasgow, now I understand , I misunderstood about your wife being on the challenge - thought she was on 'here' so didnt know how to split the spend between you both when I didnt know her name .
Well done to those still spending chrstmas gift money & for those who arenspending theit challenge allowance I just want to remind you that although stuff is very cheap at the moment in the sales, what are you going to do come the summer
We are still in January, you need to slow down. Last year many of us divided the annual allowance into monthly amounts & found it easier to save a month's allowance for the next month rather than use it first & then 'owe' ...
Anyone seeing any similarites between this kind of spending & credit card useage
Earn it before you spend it
Going to update the front page again ...0 -
I'm doing really well so far! I must admit though, I have three separate styles I buy for. Work (which I know isn't included!) home/casual/time off and traditional asian wear e.g. sarees/shalwar kameezes. This challenge really will be a challenge! I'm hoping though that I can get my other half to buy my clothes as presents and I'm encouraging all friends to give me high street vouchers for my birthday in may-I've already started the campaign on my facebook
I've even returned a top I bought in the sales-ain't I a good girl!
I'm also learning to sew...thought that might come in handy :T___________________________________________

I'm doing realy well and haven't spent a penny on clothes yet this year :A
To be fair this only down to the fact that with the appalling weather we have had my'shopping partner' hasn't been able to come over . I hate this weather but i have saved sooo much moneyWhen it rains look for RainbowsWhen its Dark look for Stars0 -
Oooooo just re-read the front page again, sorry for being blonde I thought workwear was included!! Dizzy!!
So can I please update my total as most of what I bought was for the office, apart from a charcol grey shirt dress which came to a total of £10 - don't feel so bad now!
Also got the sewing machine back out and going to mend all the loose buttons and fallen down hems of the clothes I have lurking in the back of my wardrobe which should see me through the rest of the winter!Virtual Sealed Pot 2013 #41 - £69.27OJ born 25/01/110 -

I bought a denim jacket - reduced to £6.00, I actually needed a new jacket for the warmer weather I have fake fur coat but think its better for when the waether is starting cool and warm up, plus I think it would look a bit daft wearing one in the summer?
So anyway does this count out of my budget?
Seen this lovely jumper in asda yesterday picked it up put it in the trolley but got to the check out and told the lady I changed my mind and she took it off me:D Still wished I bought it, BUT it would have ment I would have had to buy I new long sleeved top and leggings cause my others are starting to look a little washed, would be ok for my older clothes but not the new, if that makes sence.?Grocery Challenge. £400. - £35.22 + £19.80 + £109.01 = £164.03
Other spends (Clothes Luxuries etc)£11.97 + £1.19 + £7.36 + £69.00 + £38.50 + £5.50 + £23.00 +£2.00 = £158.52:shocked::sad:0 -
sarahangel - it's your choice as to whether you include workwear or not
I plan to only spend the same amount as on home clothes but some people need suits or like souk08, have to buy stuff to wear from employer so it didnt seem fair for me to set an amount.
I'll update your spends ...
queenpig - check the front page, a denim jacket is not essential in the same ways as a winter coat is to keep you warm, so in my mind it counts as a spend, sorry
