Romantic Gestures!

Most romantic thing for me is when we are both engrossed in our own things. He'll go and do whatever he has on his mind to do. Whilst passing me by he will brush his hands on the back of my neck, or caress my hair, or lean over and kiss me. Then go on his way. These gestures mean more to me than any other thing someone has ever done for me. They cost nothing but mean the world. They show me that even though we are not actively paying attention to each other or our minds are on other things, we automatucally think of the other. The world is full of Pink Fluffy Clouds......you just need to open your eyes to see them:)

DH and I have a more playful relationship, so we're very rarely romantic. Our shows of affection mainly consist of gently insulting each other and mild physical abuse like tickling and pinching... his prelude to our first kiss was to repeatedly batter me with a fluffy cushion, so what do I expect! (Just realised how childish that makes us sound...
)
I think his most romantic gesture was to make a chocolate cake for my birthday, complete with fudge frosting... he made a complete rooster of it, of course, but just the memory of him standing there with a wrecked cake and a hangdog expression, covered in chocolate splats, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy."All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0 -
Have you come across the idea / book about the Five aspects of love?
We are all reckoned to have one preferred way of giving/ receiving love eg
words of affection
touching
actions
spending quality time
giving gifts
If you know which one your OH usually prefers to give, then if s/he does something different, it is especially precious.
Similarly, if you know which s/he likes to receive, then s/he will be really pleased if you behave in that particular way.
eg my DH uses actions, ranging from making the first cup of tea of the day- and many more - to spending hours sorting out my computer. I try not to take this for granted but have learnt to accept this is his way of showing love, whereas I would prefer words of affection.
My son and his wife both go in for lavish or numerous gifts to each other - OK if you can afford it!
So try to work out what your OH would really appreciate.0 -
About the one and only romantic thing my OH has ever done for me is buy me a bottle of my favourite perfume on our third date...!
However he also lets me sit in his seat at the rugbyand he also goes out of his way to make sure I get to meet my favourite players after the match which means a lot to me

My OH is useless when it comes to romance, he thought buying "me" a washing machine on Valentines day was romantic!!??!! But, every morning, just before he goes to work we have a ritual, he gives me three kisses on the mouth, a kiss on the nose and a kiss on my forehead, followed by a proper kiss, then tells me he loves me.Starting weight 17st 4lb - weight now 15st 2lbs

For me its not really something he's done, but more the fact that my dog loves him too, the same dog who had to be locked up when I had my ex staying in case he tried to see him off.
One of my favourite things is that if I make the brews last thing at night he'll make them first thing in the morning and will sit with me until I get over the early morning grumps. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

The thing I'm doing for my OH's 30th: I've got him tickets to see Muse (one of his fave bands) at Wembley, I'm booking a hotel soon so we can stay up there. I've managed to get him a Muse pic with my hmv points, so I'm going to frame that, then wrap it up with a copy of the ticket email and hotel confirmation for his brithday.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.
