Romantic Gestures!

Evening All!

My bf and i always have this discussion about romantic gestures.

What classes as a romantic gesture?
What's the best romantic gesture you've ever received?

Personally, i am traditional when it comes to romance i think and a bit obvious!! I leave small notes for my bf, text him or take him out. Whereas my bf does more unique less obvious stuff in my opinion like cooking for me, making me a brew etc.

I think i need to try and be less obviously romantic :rotfl:

  • Hey there. My hubby wrote me a song and put it on a CD inside a card. It was on our wedding day and the most romantic gesture anyone has ever done for me, and the biggest surprise ever, Tiger xx

  • I wrote a song for someone once. Did she appreciate it? Well yeah she did, but forgot about it after a week :rotfl:

Most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me...tell me i'm sleeping in the spare room probably :rotfl: My women have never been romantic, although my new lady does all the little things. She says I have may have something very romantic for Christmas or something I may consider very scary...

It's only my third Sunday with her, but i've bought her flowers every Sunday so far. Maybe if I can keep up the flowers every Sunday or at worst every week....she seems to like them :rotfl:

My OH wrote me a letter for our first xmas together telling me how much he loved and appreciated me. Was sweet and i kept it, even though i wouldn't be able to say where exactly it is hehe :D

I used to write or draw him things on little post it notes and he has them all in his wallet still :)

I have been married over 19 years & I think its the little things that mean alot - for example hubby leaves for work before me and on these frosty morning I got out to my car & the windscreen has been cleared for me. Makes me smile!
    NEVER ASSUME!

My husband used to drive down 25 miles down the motorway with my dinner on a tray when I was working late to stop me starving. As I was in the centre of town not strictly necessary as I could have got something. But very sweet all the same.

Mind you, that was a long time ago now, and definately pre kids!

  • I think it's mainly about the little things, but occasional big things are nice too.

I've been with my husband for 19 years. One of the things he does that I love is waiting up for me when I go out, even if he has to get up early to go to work. It makes me feel adored. He also always cuddles me in bed before we go to sleep. I will be so sad if he ever stops doing this.

He'll also let me sleep in whenever I need it. He's very caring and I love him dearly. :)

Personally, these are some of my favourite things that my BF does for me. I guess I'm a simple lass. :p

He did once write a list of things he loved about me, which was a very romantic gesture indeed, but on a day-to-day basis, I do appreciate an unexpected cuppa. :D

I absolutely detest anything mushy so any romantic gestures have to be suitably silly. My OH tends to present heart shapes to me in any ridiculous way he can. He'll blow on windows and draw them in the glass, mould filter papers and stick them on my drinking glass, and my personal favourite, whittle them into my sandwiches when making my lunch (accidentally ate those a few times before I noticed).

The sweetest thing he ever did for me was buy me an unexpected birthday present. I had once told him my favourite toy as a little girl was a baby Miss Piggy doll. My nursery school told us about giving to charity, and I had got the wrong end of the stick and given her away. By the time I realised what I'd done, I tried to buy it back, only to see another little girl had my Miss Piggy in her arms :( I know it sounds stupid now but the memory of it still upsets me a little. Anyway, OH had done his usual thing of pretending not to be listening properly, and I open my birthday pressie to find a baby Miss Piggy plush. Not the same one obviously, but the poor man had spent weeks ringing around toy collectors to get one. I'm sure he found the whole thing a bit stupid but he did it anyway to make me happy.

As for me I'm not so romantic :p I just ensure that he knows I do appreciate everything he does for me and make him a nice cup of tea when he wants one. ... He could probably do better than me!!

The most romantic gesture I had was about 10 years ago and my boyfriend at the time sent me flowers to work just to say he was thinking about me!!
