Christmas Flylady Thread 21st December 2009

Havent caught up on the last few pages as have been busy - heaven knows how I would have managed if I'd een at work the last few weeks!
Returned items to Mr T this afternoon and bought the last few bits, we now have enought food to last us at least being snowed in for a few days (but that isnt going to happen living in the middle of town :rotfl:)
Roast Beef dinner all cooked and munched and leftovers plus spare chicken I couldnt get into the freezer has been cooked up as well to use this week.
Had my half hour sitting down eating my tea and opening my cards from you lovely ladies. Thanks you all so much, specially liked the card designed by Master Bishop and the one made by zoe, both very artistic.
Will update list in a min, DD and I have been decorating the other 2 trees, one for the landing which she has free rein on and the other for the middle room which I'm doing, but the tree is sh1te so I might venture out and get another tomorrow if I have time.
Talking of which all the plans for work and meeting friend have gone to pot and they want to meet at work Wed but friend cant make it and wants to meet tomorrow which means making almost the same journey 2 days in a row  plus since clearing the yard and the car we have had nearly another inch of snow and it hasnt stopped yet. Thats 7 inches of the white stuff since Thursday. I hope in a way it continues because then I can say sorry not bringing the car out with the roads like that. Only thing I feel guilty about is DD bought flowers to give to my friend tomorrow bless her. Will see what the morning brings.

Best Christmas Present Ever has just been confirmed - WE ARE DEBT FREE!!! No loans. no credit cards, no store cards, no overdraft! Direct debits covered for next month (and that's before this month's pay goes in). Tiny mortgage we have left is covered by ISAs - MSE says not to pay it off yet as the interest rate is super low. Can't believe it - what a relief! Fairly frugal Christmas planned but don't think anyone will really notice.
Thanks to you all on this thread for your money saving ideas and special thanks to those on 'Achieve Something in 12 Weeks' thread. Thanks to Martin for giving us the know how on how to do this both new style and old style.
Need a celebratory drink - I'm all tearful.
JxHope you had that drink you deserve it.

Totally know what you mean OH's mum always sent us a card for both of us and signed it from mum and dad. I always sent them 2, 1 to mum and dad and 1 from me. Not that I don't like them just they aren't my mum and dad IYSWIM.
Pigpen hope you are feeling a bit better now. So sorry about your sad news.

OH travelled that way yesterday coming back from the party in York that I didn't go to because of the bad weather. He got back around 11am white as a sheet due to the terrible driving conditions, he said he nearly lost control on a few occasions and had to keep stopping to clear the screen, window washes were frozen. My OH is not usually rattled by anything so driving conditions must have been horrific.
My heartfelt condolences go out to this young couple, saw it on the news earlier and sat and cried at the tragedy of it all, so very sad.
Piggers, would love to meet up.x
Jassa, well done on your debt free status, best feeling in the world and you can't get a greater present.
So sorted pressies into seperate bags.
Thrown 3 bin bags of rubbish away.
Half tidied the kitchen.
Found loads more stuff to ebay.
Feel so sorry for all those people whose travel arrangements have been disrupted or stranded.
Having watched the weather, I think I'm not going to venture out too much, well as much as I can avoid.
Oh btw our new telly is broken, all the pixels have gone wierd, like a waterfall pattern.... so thats going back tomorrow.
Piggers have you thought of a bungalow, that way you could only fall over rather than fall down stairs...;)

Morning all
Hope every one is coping OK with the snow/ice/freezing fog (well, that is if you have any!). My cousin has been stranded overnight in Reading and his wife if very worried about him - the battery on his phone died at 7pm yesterday evening and she's heard nothing more from him. Hopefully we'll hear later....
Have managed to get through quite a bit of yesterday's list - with OH's help - he finished work at 5pm yesterday, got the hoover out, went up in the loft, and helped to sort the remaining presents....
Here's what I did yesterday:- [STRIKE]Make sure you have all the shopping you need to take you through to next week.. milk and bread especially! It is Bank Holiday on Monday so some shops are not open.. the big supermarkets are.[/STRIKE] Small shop planned for tomorrow (at 6am ) for the last bits and pieces
- [STRIKE]Make sure the last of the presents are wrapped I will not have people sitting up while 5am on Christmas morning wrapping![/STRIKE] All done bar OH's - he's only got a couple of things that'll take about half an hour. He's had his big present (treadmill).
- [STRIKE]Have we located stockings?[/STRIKE]
- S&S the kitchen
- S&S the bathroom/s and loo's
- [STRIKE]Clean the oven and hob ready for your feast![/STRIKE] Hob needs doing again....
- Clean the fridge to accommodate you bounty of food
- Change any bedding you need to get washed before the fat guy arrives.. and I do not mean the OH/parent/ etc
- [STRIKE]Make sure your timetable for christmas day is sorted and everyone knows their tasks.. who is spud peeling? Who is stuffing the bird etc..?[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Catch up on the laundry .. ironing is tomorrows job![/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Phone someone you 'forgot' to post a card/present to in time.. just so they know you've not forgotten them... [/STRIKE]
- Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself.. reading.. relaxing.. goggling... remember you are important too. Oh, if only!
- [STRIKE]Change pet bedding and wash blankies etc.. we don't want them putting you off your christmas sprouts![/STRIKE] N/A
- Dust round the whole downstairs
- do a crazy HHC decluttering downstairs
Will also be catching up on today's list, along with icing 2 cakes, making loads of mince pies, final load of washing, and delivering presents/cake to my sister and family.
Planning to have a relaxing evening tonight with a glass or two of bailey's.
Hopefully I'll get a good run at it this morning........soooooo I'd better get going!
See you later
Take care

Morning All
Lots to do today as we are kidfree this morning and DH is at home so need to get all the presents out of the loft and sort them out and wrap whatever isn't wrapped. We're also going to Iceland and the PO and sweet shop which I didn't do yesterday. The house is also a bombsite and needs sorting before Thursday evening when everyone is coming for tea.
Piggers - hugs to all their familes and friends.
Jassa - that's fantastic news - well done you.
Have a good day all
