Well the cake is iced.
Hope it is going to be OK. 20 mins with the electric beater and I still couldn't get the icing past 'soft-peak' and my hand was beginning to ache so had to stop.

Very cold first thing (not that I have been outside) but no more snow.

I've been reading your threads and starting to take baby steps again, I really need it at this time of year.

Today I'd like to
[STRIKE]make the cranberry sauce[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]make the stuffing for the pork[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]make the bread sauce[/STRIKE]
prepare the veg
cook the giblets for the gravy
pick up kids PJs held aside at Matalan
last minute wrapping of couple of items
vacuum downstairs and wash the hall floor.
encourage daughter to take her laundry upstairs.
have a quick mooch around the shops for any bargain turkeys or pre prepared veg.
quick visit to my mam.

Dentist delayed, so we are catching the train an hour later. I really hope they can sort DS2's tooth, because he is in so much pain now.
I managed to have lunch, start the gammon, de-clutter the living room and put shopping in the kitchen.

Because of the extra time I've also assembled almost all present on our bed, ready for sorting and wrapping. Christmas Eve goodie boxes done - one for DS2 for when we are back from town and one for DS1 to take to MIL's tonight. He is going for a sleepover.

Almost time for the train now. See you later.

Thats me finished up work now YAY, not back until 4th January

Off to have some lunch and then work on the rest of my list, gave DS medicine, he sounds like he is barking and his eyes are really heavy :rolleyes:

Flyers sorry I haven't been around I've been so caught up in other things I've not had a chance to post. Hope you are all well.

for all the lovely Christmas cards they really cheered me up and a huge thanks to Lady-L for all her hard work .
My also go to Pigpen, Toots and Soappie for the smooth running of the thread and all the work they do throughout the year and to all my flyfriends for their help and support. (my house is tidy at last!)


And last but not least I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas hope you all have a great day and that Santa is good to you. (yes this is all my Christmas smilies but I need to use them all!!!!!!!!!!!)

Finished work now until 4th Jan. Just having a cuppa and then I'm going to dust and Dyson throughout and do the kitchen and utiity room floors. NN is coming over for gin and gossip tonight then I'll set to prepping the veg.

well despite heavy snow here have managed to get dad to the doctors & mum to the supermarket. back home now & it has stopped snowing & the roads are now a lot clearer.
once DH goes out to take the turkey to SILs DS & I will wrap the presents.


thank you so much to everybody involved in this thread - our house is now cleaner than it has been for years.

1. Prepare any other bits.. stuffing, salad etc Make starters before bed.. sneaky but a great idea!
2. Wash pots before bed!
3. Bath time to wear everyone out..
4. Relax, enjoy yourselves and have a lovely time with your family!!
5. If it isn't done now you don't need it to be done it isn't important!

SunnyZo's list of things to do

1. Make Christmas Cookies
2. Peanut Brittle
3. Sort out overnight bag to take and walking clothes
4. Take out sausages, red cabbage and cranberry sauce out of the freezer

Not much left to do now! Bit of baking to do and think I'll sort out the bags tomorrow
