Bath all done, Bathrrom all done (but still havent found my list )

Phoned work when I was in the bath :p and found out that our temp (who has been there nearly 4 years) has been finished, and another has been made redundant, so out of a team of 6 we now have 4, 1 is on maternity leave, one is sick (me) that leaves the supervisor and 1 other. I knew our manager would do ANYTHING to cut costs, trouble is we managed fine before they created her position on a £45 salary (for which she appears to do very little actual work):mad::mad:. Stop - dont think about work until you have to ..................... ahhhh calm again now she's not worth it

    another update:

I've also tidied up the wrapping stuff in the spare room, DH has washed up and swept the kitchen floor, I've ordered play.com voucher for BiL (bl**dy pain, give me amazon any day!). We're meeting friend for lunch at 1 but I'm going to leave about 12.15 and nip to boots (running low on vitamins) and M&S on the way... DH has apparently cleaned the loo but I'll have a quick go over the bathroom after my shower and also put the dry laundry away.

I've just realised that toots hasn't had time to do the stars this week....

I'd like to propose that we all declare our own stars this week (on our posts), I do not want toots going through the thread and having to count up!

    Agreed ladies?

Just a quick update. I finished the food shopping and picked a few bits for MIL as well, because there don't seem to be any buses running along her street today.
Phoned dentist and was told to bring DS2 back for 1.30, so I think I'll stop worrying about any lists now and concentrate on what really matters. We are catching a train in an hour, so I have to grab a quick lunch (can't get him to eat at all today), get DS2 washed and dressed, and put shopping away/declutter living room. DH is working until 4pm, so I won't get much help today. Oh, and I better put our traditional Christmas Eve gammon in the pan on low before we go out.
Problem is that there's no guarantee that DS2 will keep his mouth open long enough for them to treat his tooth. He is great with check-ups etc, but petrified of needles. He also finds it difficult to keep his mouth open for a long time without moving his tongue/swallowing, which is why we couldn't get the tooth treated at our regular dentist in the summer. Wish us luck - we'll need it!

  • What is the best way to clean oven shelves? I was going to put them in the bath with washing powder to soak. Any better ideas?

I can send my DH round with a brillo pad.....he usually does ours, he'll be with you around Boxing day!!!

Seriously, soaking in bio powder is a good start then a bit of old fashioned elbow grease.

soappie would mention oven pride, she swears by it!
