Being Ripped off???

Hi, went to a car audio place to purchase a stereo, they had a Kenwood stereo priced at £179.00 got talking to the bloke and he said he could do it for £140.00 as it was a display and the last one, I thought ok and bought the stereo. Later in the day I was doing a bit of research into the stereo and came across the stores internet site I looked for said stereo and it was priced on their £109.00 with free delivery! Now I have being ripped off here and would like to know how I can go about getting a full refund or get the money back and pay £109.00 on the receipt it states credit notes only.

Any advice would be great :)

I'm sure they have a refunds policy, you will have to take it up with the store.

Next time, do your price comparison research BEFORE you buy something ;)

print the advert off and take it in. they will have a set period where you can return an item for a full refund, either in monetary valie or in the form of the credit note. then just buy it at the cheaper price.

  • You are not entitled to a refund just because you found it cheaper elsewhere (or cheaper via a different route with the same people).

its normal practice nowadays, like say Currys shops and Currys website.
The prices are completely different, its cheaper online because there are less overheads, rent, utilities etc.
A number of years ago i sourced a tV from Currys website at about £1300, it was in the shop at £1700, luckily the manager price matched it for me.

Question, why do your research after you bought your product and not before.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Well what happened to the honest stores? You buy a product from the store expecting to pay the same price or maybe a little more say £5/10 but not £70 it’s only obvious there are trying to pull a fast one. Why should you need to do research into every single item you buy?
  • As others have said, basically you pay your money and take your choice. You are not legally entitled to a refund in this instance. The store may give you one, but they don't have to.

you shouldn't but for larger items like that where the difference could be larger you should, otherwise you have no right to complain. Just like people who dont vote dont get to complain about the government, same thing IMO
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

Not really. PC World are the same. What you do with PC World is order it online and select the "Collect in Store" option.

You have no automatic right to a refund nor have they done anything wrong.
