  • Morning!

Just checking in with my weekly update - I have managed to pay off a total of £701 since starting this challenge. I'm really pleased and hoping that I can pay off closer to £1,000 next month.

Keep up the good work everyone!
  • Hi all,

Please can I join this challenge. I am new to this site and am still finding my way around.

I need to calculate my exact debt and will post that later (it is around £8,700). It was nearer £12,500 in July 2009 - that is when i finally took my head out of the sand and decided to sort this out.

love this site!!! I will be looking to join some of the smaller challenges in order to help me achieve this one :-)

Good Luck to everyone in this challenge!!!!
    Debts @ 20-04-14 = £10,987

Katenut and Stacy, I TRIED to stick to updating just once a month but caved pretty soon after I got my first new statement online.

I've been recording on paper the slowly falling debt for months, so having a challenge like this was too much temptation!

One thing I still do is record how much interest I pay each month... seeing this figure get lower each month is great too!

    Thats 0.63%

I'm just going to fiddle with my spreadsheets (how times have changed) and add on my minimum payments

Right - Minimum payments are £260.43 so added to the overpayments of £179 total payment so far in January is £439.43

So far then I have paid back 1.57% of my debt :j:j

As I am a sad old bird and DH is in the shed playing with his trains, I am now going to calculate just how much I have to pay off this month to hit 2%

Edit Another £141 to hit 2%

I'm still here reading everyones progress.
I'm itching to update with totals paid off debts but im doing it on a monthly basis and will only update when all my interest comes off of my payments and i know exactly how much i have paid off.
    Can't wait!! :D

I'm doing exactly the same - been looking at this thread every day its addictive lol! Will be able to do a proper update myself at the start of Feb when all the DD payments leave my account after payday! Have also sorted out a plan to reduce the £172 a month  that i'm spending renewing payday loans (embarassing :o), am going to pay most of them off with a 15 month credit union loan next month and use the extra monthly money i'll have to clear my debt faster.

Keep the faith people, we're getting there! :D
Proud to be dealing with my debts!! :j
