I know it's been forever since I posted. With one thing and another, our credit card debit shot up to almost double my initial amount, but I am DELIGHTED to tell you that thanks to a lodger and a successful PPI claim we will have paid it all off by the end of May.

I'll be back then to declare it properly, but I'm currently bouncing off the ceiling in glee so wanted to share!

    Hi all,
Since last April, we bought a new house, moved into said new house, got married, and went on honeymoon (wedding and honeymoon saved for).

Congratulations Swinstie, weddings and new houses are always mighty expensive times. At least you know what you are faced with and already have plans to pay it back asap. So many don't!!
Number 52 here, debt free as of today. I can't believe it, it doesn't feel real yet.

Yay and another one's done with debt!! :T
    Mortgage
    Start January 2017: $268,012
    Latest balance $266,734
    Reduction: $1,278.45

Well done! Do you have an interim amount paid or are you waiting until the end and saying 100% clear ;)

Should I set up an interim thread for the Commonwealth Games then? (followed by another one for those that still need it, 2016 in Rio :o)

Well for me personally it is a goal to aim for otherwise im not sure if i will have the motivation, however I do realise that it is quite time consuming for you. So if you feel that it will be a hassle then please dont put yourself out but if you have the time, patience and inclination then i would be most grateful xx

I'm in for the long haul - so not a problem (hmm should I wait until July to start it or start it now?)

I'm going to wait for the 100% if that's ok - just waiting for the PPI cheque to come through and it'll whack it all off in one hit!
